“At least it’s different. Too bad the animals couldn’t come, but I don’t think Nibbie would’ve liked it here.” Mary reaches up to adjust her breathing apparatus. “I don’t think this thing is working. I can’t breathe.”
In slow motion, Patsy floats towards Mary.
“Let me help you.” She flexes her massive arms as she fiddles with the apparatus. “It’s working perfectly. I think your suit is just too tight across your boobs. My arms are feeling pretty cramped too.”

“There’s the space station.” Mary points to a metallic construction in the distance. “Is that Oliver in the window?”
“Probably! He was supposed to be on the earlier transport.” Lyn literally bounds through the air. “This is great!”
Jumping and soaring, the women work their way towards the station. As they near the building, gravity enhancers force them down and they land with a loud thump in a thrashing pile of arms and legs.
The space station is unwelcoming and cold, all dirty grays and dull black, amid the wasteland that is Mars.
A computerised voice echoes over their comm systems.“Ladies! Welcome to the very first space station on Mars to allow visitors.”
A panel slides up opening into a small vestibule. The women scramble in, thankful to be in a stationary structure.
The door slides shut. “We can take off our suits now.”
“Thank goodness” Lyn exclaims. “These things got heavier the moment we stepped in.”
“I’m starving,” Patsy grumps.
“And I’m dying of thirst,” Mary chimes in.
When the suits are divested, the door to the interior slides open. They enter—and stare!
“Look at all these hunks!” Mary literally drools as she gazes at the roomful of male bodies. “Who needs food or drink with all these Man Candies!”
Patsy’s slack mouth pops shut. “For once I have to agree with you. Look at those muscles!”
“Why just men?” The question gives them all pause. Why were there all just men?
Oliver flashes those pearly whites.
The few women who came as workers couldn’t take the isolation. They went home. What we have here is a group of hard working, hard fighting, lonely males!
“Oh my!” Lyn fans her face. “We’re all alone with a group of testosterone charged males?”
“And that’s a problem?” Patsy strides toward the waiting men. “This is a single woman’s dream!”
“I didn’t know you were single!” Lyn looks confused. “I thought you were married.”
“I am,” Patsy grins. “But I promise not to tell if you don’t?” She stops before a blonde bodybuilder running her fingers lightly up his chest. “Could you teach my husband how to get these?”
“I think my husband would use a little of that too!” Mary follows Patsy’s lead. “This is just too good to be true.”
“We’ve been waiting for you.” A Gannicus lookalike motions them to a bench near a table. “We’re a little short on fancy foods but there’s plenty of what we have.”
“You’re telling me.” Mary grabs a beer. “Beer and hunky men! Life is good.”
Patsy loads a food tray. “Enjoy it while we can. Reality awaits.”
And the reality is that we're here to celebrate our sister hostess Patsy's great new release, THE CHALICE! Without further ado, let's find out more about this fantastic futuristic romance!

Blurb for The Chalice:
Decimated by the savage Deg’Nara and teetering on the brink of extinction, the last surviving males of the once great Chiagan-Se embark on a quest to salvage what is left of their civilization. They send their remaining seeker ships into the void, searching for genetically compatible females. Time is running out, but in the far reaches of the universe, on an obscure and primitive planet, a match is discovered.
One thousand panic-stricken women awaken two hundred years in the future, captives aboard an unmanned alien spacecraft bound for parts unknown! How had they gotten there and why?
The males thought they came willingly. The females believed they’d been kidnapped. Full of hopeful expectation, the Chiagan-Se prepare for the arrival of their new mates. Terrified and furious at the inexplicable abduction, the women prepare for combat! And when the two sides meet, the battle commences.

Excerpt:
He moved not a muscle, merely watched her as she drew near, glistening silver eyes alight with anticipation. He licked his lower lip, lips stretching in a wisp of a smile. The sparkling gaze deepened, the massive chest expanded as he inhaled.
He was superb. A flawless sculpture of perfect manhood. Like a Greek statute carved from ivory granite. In that moment, she totally understood Hanna’s reaction to Mordaq. Being near Tegan felt like being plugged into an electrical outlet and ignited by a shower of burning sparks.
She rounded the table, so close she could feel the pulsating waves of scorching heat emanating from every pore of his great body. His height was such, even sitting, they were almost at eye level.
She studied him carefully, examining each separate feature, from the snow white hair loosened now from the braids he normally wore, the high, intelligent forehead, the silver-blue eyes, slightly arched nose, sculpted lips and firm chin. All taken together, there was nothing effeminate about his looks, but he was beautiful all the same. And the fangs—well, they were just another part of him, an acceptable one now that she knew better.
Her eyes moved lower, assessing. Strong neck and wide shoulders rippled with muscle. Biceps and triceps that would make Mr. Universe jealous. Brawny tattooed pecs emphasized the six-pack abs of his trim waistline. A Greek sculpture indeed!
And then—even lower.
She jerked her gaze upwards. This is a catch and release fishing trip. She wasn’t here for the kill.
But no reason not to make him wonder!
He calmly returned her gaze. A single brow arched. “You. Like?”
“Oh yeah,” she grinned in appreciation. “I like a lot.”
Who wouldn’t? Maybe a damn fool or someone who hated chocolate! But not this girl! No, sirree!
“Stay?” he asked, his tone wistful.
She heaved a sigh. “No,” she shook her head reluctantly. She’d already moved faster than she’d expected to and she wasn’t going to ruin it now. One step at a time.
She heaved a sigh. “No,” she shook her head reluctantly. She’d already moved faster than she’d expected to and she wasn’t going to ruin it now. One step at a time.
“Soon,” she said, backing out of reach.
She fled towards the exit, hands gliding over the control panel. The door slid open. She stepped out, turning to look one last time.
He stood up, the thin cloth falling to the floor. Grinning outright, he posed, granting her the full benefit of his gloriously nude form.
Damn him! The tables had turned. He became the hunter and she the prey.

ReplyDeleteShort Excerpt:
ReplyDeleteHe smiled, a slow, sexy outpouring of pure male magnetism—so melting, it took her breath away. Dazed, she stood there mouth gaping, panting like an overheated distance runner. She blinked, studying him up close and personal. A part of her stupefied brain realized for the first time he was younger than she’d guessed. Still a young man, but aged by the weight of his lost world.
She felt his fingers brush a lock of hair from her face, tips lingering for just a moment. Lightly. Caressing. Knees became jelly, hands lost feeling. The room whirled, dissolving into mist until just the two of them remained, surrounded by a multi-colored aura of resonant emotion.
“Be.u.ti.ful,” his husky voice whispered, tracing his hand over her cheek and across her lips. The touch gentle yet provocative. Snowflakes kissing the contours of her face.
How do I get a place on that shuttle? ~elbows her way to the front of the queue~
ReplyDeleteFabulous post, ladies. Who guessed paradise was out there in space?!
Good luck with The Chalice, Patsy. It's on my Kindle awaiting its turn...

Thanks for rocketing in Cathie! Have a beer and relax, the fun is about to begin!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Patsy dear, sorry I'm a bit late replying - I got caught up in - er - converasation with that rather hunky male over there!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like the post and congratulations again on 'The Chalice' - on my 'must read' list.
What a fantastic excerpt. I feel my own knees turning to jelly!
Hi Cathie, so glad you managed to get a seat on the shuttle - thanks for joining us. *Phew* I think I need to cool down with some of that iced too too!
ReplyDeleteYep, just what I love - a roomful of hunky men -- and a beer of course. Too bad we don't have music (preferably country rock) so we could get some dancing going on around here. There's a guy over there who just looks like he could be a great country swinger!
ReplyDeleteOooh, you're right Patsdy - dare you to ask him!
ReplyDelete*Patsdy* Gulp - what excactly WAS in that iced tea? LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL - I get called "Pasty" a lot too, makes me feel like a stripper or something! Actually, the iced tea is a very secret Martian concoction only given to the pure of heart! How did you get some? LOL
ReplyDeleteTHE CHALICE IS AWESOME PATSY! HOPE YOU CONTINUE WITH A SEQUEL!
ReplyDeleteLINDARB49@HOTMAIL.COM
I have to say this is one of the best trips we have ever taken!
ReplyDeleteEach one is hotter then the other. How do you men take it here all alone with no gulp women?
Can I keep one???
There are so many certainly they won't miss just one?
Yours books were the first TWRP stories I ever read. Hooked, you know I love time travel...
ReplyDeleteHere handsome, come with meeeee.
So - you're boldly going where no -er - women have gone before - and where there are lots of hunky men? Sounds good to me!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the release, Patsy - and great excerpts!
Thanks Linda and Mary - wonderful comments and I love you both. (and you too Lyn). LYN - LYN - where are you. I wonder if she's in the middle of that cluster of males near the beverage counter?
ReplyDeleteOoops, someone call. Well you know you were saying something about the pure in heart? Well, er, That's not what that handsome folden haired hunk over there said when he offered me some of that Martian tea! :) *giggle*
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, Hi Paula, and hello Mary dear sister hostess, where were you hiding just now?
ReplyDeleteThanks Paula for stopping by - go where no men have gone before - LOL - I like that
ReplyDeleteAnother Excerpt:
ReplyDeleteHis Chalice bent down, patting the prone female’s shoulder, her soft voice murmuring unintelligible sounds rife with comfort. Long pale hair concealed her delicate features from his perusal stimulating his imagination to contrive her expressive eyes and sculpted lips. The female on the floor jerked upright and threw herself on his Chalice, her hysterical wails shattering the quiet.
“Should we go out there?” Shagal pranced from foot to foot, face alight with anticipation.
“Not yet. They need time to adjust to our presence—understand we’re not the enemy.”
“Why would they think that?” Shagal’s brow furrowed. “They were invited and they came. We’ve shown only kindness and welcome.” His silvery eyes flashed. “Unless you did something when you talked to them,” he added, lips drawn down.
“I did nothing.” His own excitement was hard to contain. He wanted nothing more than to enter the communal room and attempt to converse with his Chalice but now was not the time. He wished he knew more of their language, enough to tell her how pleased he was and how he hoped he could make her happy. Strange how he’d never worried about that in the past. In the before time, his Chalice would have been selected from the available females and they would have commenced their commitment to each other. If the Gods willed it, children would have blessed the union. He would have become regent with all the duties that title entailed and his Chalice would have ruled at his side. Now all he had to offer was his honor and his protection. Poor exchange for the life she could have had.
Another tempting excerpt, Patsy. Ooohhh, thanks!
ReplyDeleteIs there any of that Martian tea left? Seems I've gone a bit tipsy. Might just be the thin air up here, or all that testosterone...
Oh, you're so right, Cathie, on both counts! That Martian tea is something else I think I'm hallucinating - or are there really six Richard Armitage lookalikes here?
ReplyDeletePatsy, these excerpts are so intriguing, what an original and fascinating premise.
Tea, this is tea? Why do I feel so weird? Am I supposed to be seeing double? Or are those two guys hot twins...
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see any alien looking species here today. Or are they all shapeshifters?
Hello there handsome. I have some jewelry to show you. No wait, you have the jewelry? I'm confused. But, I will follow you anywhere they let me!
I think the term is "jewels" Mary! Uh *her tongue drops out and saliva drips* Did...catch a look at that guy. *she points to a tall brunette with shoulder length hair* Hey, Baby - I've got just what you need.
ReplyDeleteAnother excerpt:
ReplyDelete“She is too small,” Mordaq grumbled. “I told you she was.” The Warrior stared at the screen, gaze focused on the tiny Chalice. “Kormak did me no service.” His face changed, softened, avid interest flashed across his features. “Now there is a woman” he muttered.
In the center of the image screen, the giantess bent down and picked up a tray, strode to a table and sat down, seeming oblivious to anything or anyone. Tall and robust, tawny hair swept to the tips of her broad shoulders framing a strong but feminine face. His lips curved, a secret smile twisting his lips. The huge nourishment glands rose and fell with each inhalation. She picked up a utensil and began eating, strong white teeth peeking through her generous lips. Though she would not be his choice, Tegan could understand Mordaq’s attraction.
“Perhaps you could convince her breeder to trade.”
Mordaq whirled, astonished. “I would not treat either Chalice so unfairly,” he sputtered. “The tiny one was chosen for me. I could not dishonor her.”
It's raining men, halllelujah! It's raining nmen - oops wrong plane!
ReplyDeleteOooh another fantastic episode, Patsy, way to go!
WAHOOOOO - Catching all these hunks is straining my massive arms! But I will prevail! Mary and Lyn - herd those boys over into the corner. It's time for the juggling contest!
ReplyDeleteWe get to choose or what?? Now???
ReplyDeleteWell we would end up in space and on the weekend of summer's here!
At least I lost weight up, I'm as lite as a feather! Tee Hee. Calling all hunks this way to earth...
Another excerpt:
ReplyDelete“Perhaps you should say something,” Mordaq pushed him forward. “Say one of the greetings Kormak indicated we should use.”
“As my bodyguard, perhaps you should be the one.” He didn’t savor the idea of speaking the words aloud. The nuances were hard to form, guttural and primitive. He felt like a fool even attempting such a feat.
“Well, someone has to say something,” Shagal exclaimed. “We can’t stand here staring at the wall as well.”
“As my counselor, perhaps the duty should be yours.”
Shagal blanched, mouth drooping down. “I’m not your counselor. You only want me to speak so you don’t have to.”
“My father’s counselors always spoke first,” Tegan reminded him, striving to sound convincing. “The King never speaks first until it is warranted.”
“Didn’t you tell me that we are all equals in this brave new venture.” Mordaq’s lips quirked at the reminder. “We’re all equal.”
Curse my mindless remarks! “If we’re all equal, then I’m no more obligated to speak than are you.”
Vaux exhaled, growling under his breath. “I suppose it’s up to me. As the son of an ambassador to the outer rims, that makes me the closest thing we have to an envoy.” His irritated glare raked the bystanders. “If they attack, I expect your support. I do not wish to die by the hand of an alien female.”
One last look at his hand-reader, Vaux inched closer to the females. He cleared his throat, glancing over his shoulder at the expectant throng. He looked as uncomfortable as Tegan felt.
Nervous and awkward, Vaux opened his mouth. “Heh-woe,” he called out.
Hawt excerpt, Patsy. The Chalice looks wonderful. :-D
