As many of you may know, our beloved sister hostess SHARON DONOVAN, tragically passed away on 11th April 2012. We who knew her, loved her, and were inspired by her courage and determination to face head on whatever life threw at her. When she could no longer see to paint she turned to writing and showed her amazing talent in the Inspirational Romance and Romantic Suspense genres, and her story 'Charade Of Hearts' was awarded the coveted Predators and Editors Award in January 2011.

This Blog was a source of great delight to her, she was one of the founder hostesses and she contributed to the fun and silliness in her own original way, and was kind enough to let her unique creation, the hunky butler 'Oliver' join us for our Friday romp and prepare 'virtual breakfast' for the guests on the following morning. It's beyond hard to have to go on without her, but we know that she would have been the first to insist that 'the show must go on.' She is, and will always be with us in spirit.
Sharon, dear friend, we will never forget you.
The Author Roast and Toast is part of the legacy you left us. Let's raise a Toast to you as well as all our guests.

A space adventure with Emma Lai

Deep space - the outer regions of the known universe... Beneath thedome of the floating space station, USS Authroroastantoast the atmosphere is charged with excitement.Surrounded by the hydroponic gardens, the tallest tower of the Galaxian Staterooms reaches toward the stars. Inside, the three hostesses, Mary, Sharon and Lyn are almost tripping over each other in their anxiety to look their best for their latest visitor, the lovely Princess Emma Lai, who is expected at any moment. Cuddles and Junior, in their little space uniforms, run round and round excitedly, getting under everyone's feet.

'First Officer' Oliver, has scoured the four corners of the Universe for the most delectable of delicacies for the feast, including chocolate mindblowers from the constellation Lush, chocolate creme wedges from the planet Temta-Shon,
chocolate love deserts, from Indul Gens, and exotic fruits and savouries from secret sources around the galaxy. With his own hands he has prepared a chocolate delight cake, light as an alien whisper and concocted with every kind of chocolate known to humanoids. (The Princess is just a little partial to chocolate!)

He's also been busy chopping and mashing baby carrots and sweet peas for the young Prince. The baby will be arriving with a nursemaid on another ship since Princess Emma has a prior engagement and doesn't want him to be stressed by too much travelling in hyper-space.

Mary, in a strapless blue gown of rare Andromedan silk twirls around thrusting out her enhanced chest. Ooops! Something's popped out! Luckily Oliver is busy setting out glasses of frothy green Venusian liquer or he would not have known where to look! Lyn issues a command to the replicator, extracts a long piece of narrow blue ribbon and quickly fastens it, halterneck style, to the top of Mary's bodice, which she hoicks up as high as she can. "You need more than anti-grav and a bit of silk to keep those covered, dear," she whispers, winking wickedly at Sharon.
Sharon, in a fantastic rose pink gown with a waterfall of froth and frills at the back, turns and wiggles her ample posterior. "Does my bum look big in this?"
Lyn and Mary grab each other for support, giggling hysterically behind Sharon's back. "Course not, sweetie, why in the Universe would you think that!"
They wipe the tears of laughter from their eyes. "Good job she has all those layers of lace to hide her bubble butt!" Mary says, in a stage whisper. Sharon turns round, and flashes a look like laser fire at the two giggling morons, but then a red alert blinks above their heads.

"Incoming message," Lyn gasps, and rushes through the specially decorated archway to the computer deck. clutching the full skirts of her beautiful purple dress to avoid tripping over her tiny feet. "Oh no, it appears Princess Emma Lai has been captured by aliens, on route to her party! We need to rescue her - come on girls - and Oliver!

Swiftly they all board one of the attack vessels and head off at the speed of light to the coordinates given by the computer. They board the alien ship, taking them by surprise. Mary points her laser gun at them, thrusting out her chest. They gawp at it in amazement, (they're a bit shocked by the lazer gun too). While Sharon wiggles her hips and bends over, blocking out the light, Lyn takes advantage of the situation to call to Princess Emma. She kicks out at a huge alien in her way and he falls flat on his face. (Nothing can stand up to Lyn's feet.) Emma wriggles out of her captor's clutches, grabs his blaster from his belt and hits him over the head. Oliver flexes his biceps, then rattles off a round with his stungun, before the other aliens can retaliate, and they quickly exit the ship and head back for the space station.

Once under the dome, the three hostesses hug Princess Emma Lai, who looks stunning and completely calm after her ordeal, in a regal deep wine colored gown of heavy brocade. They escort her inside the State Building and Oliver hands her a glass of green liquer, before commanding the computer to relay a message to all the known inhabited worlds.
Ladies, gentlemen and otherlings, we are proud to present our very special guest today, Emma Lai. Sit back and relax and hear all about her wonderful romance, 'His Ship, Her Fantasy.' The station is open to visitors and to win a copy of her book, answer this question - How many aliens does it take to change a light globe?
Blurb for His Ship, Her Fantasy:
Ellie Woods is in love…with a ship. When an argument with the ship results in a bump on the head, she finds herself in the strong arms of Alastair. But, who is he, and where did he come from? Alastair has loved Ellie from afar for years, but duty has kept him from revealing himself to her. When a grave threat reveals his true identity, he hopes that Ellie will choose reality over fantasy.

Excerpt: She fought to stay aware by focusing her gaze on the intriguing cleft in her rescuer’s chin. After a few moments, she tried to tilt her head back to get a look at the rest of his face, but the action made her dizzy once again. She gave up with a sigh and relaxed against his firm, broad chest. She shrugged. Chances were she would not recognize him anyway. Over two hundred people served on the ship. She knew the dozen or so engineers who worked the first and third rotations and maybe another dozen crewmates by sight, others who worked the same rotation and happened to eat their meals in solitary silence at the same time she did. She would guess from the fact that he had to ask her name that he was not any of those two dozen individuals. Maybe she should not have told him her real name. At least that way, when he talked about finding a woman helpless in the bowels of the ship, no one would have known who it was. Yeah, right, whom was she trying to fool? She was the sole person assigned duty to this area during fourth rotation. Her breath caught, and she stiffened in his arms. Who was he, and what was he doing in a restricted area? “Relax,” he said. “Who are you?” She tried to sit up in his arms, determined to get a look at him and an answer to her question. He lifted her higher in his arms, which wedged her head between his head and shoulder and prevented her from getting a good look at his face. “Alastair.” His warm breath fluttered against her forehead and cheek.

Bio: Emma likes nothing more than a challenge. First, she tackled the male-dominated field of engineering. Next, she expanded her understanding of the world by studying international relations. Finally, her husband dared her to use her experience and knowledge and devote herself to writing. She accepted his challenge and has been writing ever since. She has found writing keeps her sane. Her characters demand their stories be told and nag her incessantly until she complies. The characters are very insistent about her remaining faithful to their individual adventures. As a result, Emma writes a range of genres and levels of heat. She never knows what the next set of characters will demand!

  5. Hi Linda, welcome to the roast. I'm going to teleport over to Emma's Blog to say hello to you there too.

  6. Sharon drifts in and accepts her green cocktail from Oliver with a smile. Raises it in a toast. Welcome, Emma. We hope you enjoy your party. Your book sounds fabulous, and might I commend your gorgeous attire. Waves hello to Sandra and Linda. Floating past Lyn, she greets her fellow hostess with a grin. Air kisses, sweetie. Hey, that dude you knocked out flat with your foot has a knot on his forehead the size of Mary's fake hooters. Walks away cackling...

  7. *Emma comes rushing into the room, one hand gripping her skirts and the other tugging up the bodice.* Sorry, ladies! The little Prince was demanding his second, no third breakfast of the morning.

Good morning Lyn, Sharon and Mary! I must say everyone looks lovely. And Oliver looks quite dashing in his uniform.

Thanks, Oliver for all the hard work. The chocolate cake looks divine. The Prince will be in to enjoy his carrots and peas after a short respite in his jumperoo. If you wouldn't mind passing me a bit of that delicious looking chocolate trifle, I can start working on the Prince's after breakfast mid-morning glass of milk.

  8. Good morning, Sandra! Didn't the ladies do a fabulous job on replicating a beautiful dress for me? I don't recall telling them I look great in wine colored outfits, but with their keen fashion eye they must have figured it out.

  9. *Emma uses her wrist pad to enter a quick few commands. With a tsk and a slight shake of her head, she enters a few more commands before smiling at Linda.* Sorry, Linda. There was a slight mix up with Blogger. It refused to recognize my scheduling changes, but we're all set now. The spotlight is shining on you and you alone!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Morning, Sharon! You did an excellent job of throwing everything into the dark so Lyn, Mary and Oliver could do their thing.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Lyn drops a little curtsey.

Princess Emma, I am in awe at how you manage to keep so many engagements, take care of the Prince so efficiently, not to mention battling aliens, and still look as radient as you do! So glad you like the dress, I have to say it does really suit you.

Ah, here comes Oliver with your chocolate trifle now. When you've had chance to get your breath back tell us a bit more about your books. (Uh Oh, Oliver's clutching his copy of 'His Ship Her Fantasy' and waiting for you to sign it for him. You'd better humor him or he'll keep pestering you until you do! LOL

Sharon, sweetie, as Princess Emma says, you did a great job of causing a total blackout so we could escape in the confusion, just don't bend down too often, it confuses the illumination computers!

Giggles hysterically as Sharon's bubble butt once more obscures the view.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Emma, tell us more about motherhood and caring for a young and demanding prince. And how old is the little darling now? About six months? Oliver, perhaps if you set the book down and give Emma a moment to breathe, she can sign it for you. And I would love another green bubbly and a bite of something. Must keep my girlish figure. You know Emma, Mary and Lyn are so very childish (lowers her voice to a stage whisper) not to mention envious of my curvacious bottom. But that's okay. Sharon bats her eyes as Lyn shoves a huge hunk of cake into her mouth. Turns to Emma. It goes straight to her feet. We have to order them special and pay extra for the stretched out leather. Sharon walks off cackling...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh dear, her shoes that is, not her feet. Oliver, what is in the green cocktail? I feel a wee dizzy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. *Emma signs Oliver's copy.* To Oliver, you can pilot my ship anytime. Love, Emma.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Prince Iain is six months and two days old. He is a sweet little boy who smiles and laughs about 99% of the time. He hates going to sleep. He loves eating, speaking of which, it's about time for his peas and carrots. He's trying to crawl, but hasn't worked out what to do with his arms so he inches along on his face. He loves reading and has a fondness for water, as long as you're not washing his face.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well I must say motherhood agrees with you, Princess Emma. And how adorable, a happy prince with a smile to brighten his way through the galaxy. Does he enjoy being read to?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ah yes, the little prince sleeps and grows like a weed.
Mary holds up her boobs so they don't bounce as she runs up to Emma throws her arms around Emma's neck, and kisses her soundly on each cheek. Hi Emma! You know I love your books! Mary shoves Lyn and Sharon out of the way and sits next to Emma. Lyn gives her the evil eye and Sharon talks to herself.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes, Sharon. His favorite books at the moment are his Baby's First Library ABC book and Bear in a Square.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi, Mary! I'm sure the Prince will give you a big smile once he finishes playing on his mat. He's involved in trying to crawl.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Lyn smiles sweetly and makes cooing noises to Prince Iain as Oliver hands the Princess a bowl of specially grown organic sweet peas and carrots.

"I can only apolgise for the manners of my colleagues," she whispers They're jealous, you see. I have such tiny, dainty feet and theirs are so - well, big! D'you know they order shoes for me to wear on the Roasts, and make them ten sizes too big, so I have to pad them out with icecat wool to get them to fit at all? Honestly, it's a wonder I can walk!

The baby chuckles and closes his eyes in delight as Princess Emma feeds him another spoonful.

"I just love the Prince's name Emma, do you know it's an ancient Welsh name?" Probably the Irish would claim it as well, but Welsh, Scots and Irish are all descended from the Celts!"

    ReplyDelete
  21. Emma, Mary takes her aside to clue her in.
Try not to look at Sharon's feet, she is deluded into thinking they are small. We try not to get her too excited.
She trips over her feet even barefoot. They gave her mini motors with the last pair she bough. They are huge and they are flat. Her feet that is.

    ReplyDelete
  22. There are things going on her you just can't imagine. Talk about primadonna, that Sharon thinks she smells like a rose.
Ummmm. the food looks yummy. Mary hands a jar of baby food custard type for Iain and he verbalizes loudly when he sees it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Lyn leans toward the Princess and whispers conspiratorily -

"Just between us, our Mary is lovely but she is just a little confused - she tends to drink a little too much of Oliver's latest brew. She's somehow got Sharon's bubble butt bum confused with my little feet. Look -" she kicks her shoes off and nearly hits a seven foot tall visiter from Alpha Centaurai in one of his six eyes. "See how tiny they are?"

Do tell us a bit more about 'His Ship Her Fantasy'. I've read it and loved it but for those who haven't, what's the main theme?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank you, Lyn. Shoes that are too big would make it difficult to walk.

We chose Iain because of its origin. My husband is part Irish and loves his heritage. We caught flak over the spelling, but wanted to stay true to the origin.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You ladies crack me up. Oliver what exactly is in that green concoction?

Ellie, the heroine in HSHF is an engineer like me. And like me, she faces down the goog ole boy club with a professional demeanor. But underneath the facade, she desires a man who will look at her as an equal. One who respects her enough for her to feel secure enough to let down her guard and be coddled. Enter Alastair, a strapping man, who would make any woman feel like a dainty damsel.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's a beautiful name, Emma, and so good that you kept to the original spelling - that's exactly how we'd spell it in Wales too! I thought you'd probably used it because of the Irish connection, it's a popular name in all three countries of Celtic Britain. I can understand your husband being proud of his Irish heritage, it has such a rich history of myth and legend as well.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, I seem to remember that Ellie is very tall - but Alastair was certainly enough of a hunk to make her feel feminine - and then some!

    ReplyDelete
  28. We hope to one day get to take an extended visit to all of the UK. I'm fascinated by each country. They all have vibrant histories.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, Ellie is six foot, which is in stark contrast to my own five feet. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Snap! I'm five foot nothing too! Ah well, good things come in small packages, as my Dad used to say!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Emma, I also love the name Iain and have Irish and Welsh blood in my heritage. Ireland is so mystical and I highly recommend it. What a little sweetie, the dear prince. Oliver, bring him some of those cute little space toys to tinker with.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mary hands Lyn her glasses so she can see her huge feet. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

So what are you working on now. Book-wise that is?

Mary and Emma watch Sharon as she floats by with a guy on each arm. Mary just shakes her head.
One of them has a hand on her BB. Uh Oh!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Mary, sweetie, Lyn's right. My feet go with my petite five foot frame. It's the bubble butt you so envy. Tuck in your boobs. The silicone particles are showing again.

    ReplyDelete
  34. How exciting that you write in so many genres, Emma. Do you have a favorite?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I keep telling you if they flop to the sides when you lie down they're real. And I ask you. Would you rather have big knockers or a huge butt?
No offense. It does go with your body.

So Emma having read both of your published shorts I kinda wonder what's next for you? Full length I hope?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lyn sighs and tucks her tiny feet back into the huge shoes she's forced to wear. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Yes, Sharon and I are both five foot tall, with tiny feet, but I don't have the large bubble butt, just shapely hips and a little riding muscle! Nor have I had to enhance my chestical regions with silicone! Mary dear heart, if they flop to the side, perhaps the silicone needs renewing?

I agree Emma, I'd love to read a full length novel by you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Why do you buy them so big if you have small feet. No one is holding a stick and making you wear those boats.
    Poor Lyn, she's touched Emma.
Let's humor her. Yes Lyn, you have tiny feet. HeHe.

Yeah Emma, when is the full coming out?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Mary, sweetie, how many of those green Venusian frothy things of Oliver's have you had? Don't you rememmber, you and Sharon put in a bulk order for party shoes for the Roasts - and you insisted on ordering ones several sizes too big for me! Ah well never mind, there's always next week, tee hee.

Emma I haven't read your second book, His Hope Her Salvation, yet, but I've been reading the blurb and reviews and it sounds just as good as HSHF. Got to read it!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Squirm Lyn, you're only kidding yourself. Would you like a shrinking potion for those feet.

Sharon you are awfully quiet. Might a shrinking potion help?
Maybe I need to practice my spells.
Junior has been sitting next to Emma since her son arrived. His job and Cuddles is to protect the prince at all costs.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm back, Mary. I had a slight run in with the spacemen. ooh la la. Isn't the wee prince adorable? Oh, look, Mary, he thinks you're his mama! Too bad he can't talk and tell the truth. Does she or doesn't she?

    ReplyDelete
  41. *A breathless Emma runs into the room. Seeing all eyes turned her way, she slows and straightens, remembering her regal station.* Sorry, all. I had to step out and make lunch for my FIL, who I invited over to sample some Vietnamese soup, pho.

Oliver, dear. I'm ready for dessert now. How about a huge slice of that scrumptious looking cake?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mary grabs Sharon and pulls her face into her bosom and shoves it around.
the look on her face priceless.
Shock and Awe. They are real, soft and all mine. HAHA!

    ReplyDelete
  43. *Sigh.* I'd love to say I have a full-length polished and ready to go, but alas. I was planning on submitting a contemporary, but I've decided it has too much of me in it and needs some serious overhauling.

I'm working on edits for a Scarlet set in Regency England. If I ever finish, I might get a release date. I also need to polish and resubmit the third story in the Mates of the Guardians series. Poor Eallair is languishing. He keeps pestering me to rewrite the opening chapter.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My favorite genre is probably sci-fi/fantasy just because I can make up a whole lot of things without worrying about too many facts. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Even if they are huge!

Well Emmma soup is easy enough but!!!
    What's in Vietnamese soup?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Pho is the broth and is typically made from beef bones. It has rice vermicelli noodles and thinly sliced beef. It can also have green onions, mint, and bean sprouts. You can add hoison sauce or sriachi.

And, I cheated since my mother provided all the ingredients. I just had to warm everything up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. That's me for sure, bold and daring!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cheating at cooking is fine as long as the end is worth it!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sharon shove Mary away with disgust. Really, get over yourself, everyone else did! Turns to Emma with a gracious smile. I think that's a great way to look at it, you can make things up without someone accusing you of not checking your research. The imagination is really the writer's best tool, don't you think? Mary Ricksen, stay away from me with those over ripe mellons before I slam them into the green punch!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes, Sharon! Imagination is our best tool.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Okay as long as you keep that huge bubble butt away from me. You wack people with it as you walk by sweetie!
We take a wide berth around it. Especially when the back up lights go on and we hear the beeps, it's time to move out of the way.

Lyn I have the proof. I spoke to the poor guy who fitted you with the new shoes. He had a lot to say.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Keep your hands off my melons and I will leave your BB alone. If I can get around it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. As a fellow 'Faery Rose' I have to agree with you about Science Fiction/Fantasy, Emma. As long as you keep it logical, no-one can say something is impossible, because who knows what may happen in the future! I think it was Isaac Asimov who said - 'when describing something in SF, say what it does, but don't try to explain how it does it' and I've found that very useful advice.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh and Mary, the guy who fitted my last new shoes was very miffed because they were so small and he couldn't charge any more because the material he used was so little. Unfortunately the ones I'm wearing today were the job lot you ordered and they're so big I could float down the milky way in them. I could really use some of your silicone to pad them out!

    ReplyDelete
  55. You don't need silicone you need medication for your delusions. It's so sad you used to be vibrant and quick witted.
Take the little pills the doctor gave you and you will be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Sharon saunters through the sorrowful hostesses, bopping Mary hooters first into the punch bowl. Then without missing a beat, she snatches Lyn's wig off, leaving her bald as a newborn. Oh, Oliver, please bring more food and drink for Emma and I while the girls pull themselves together.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Dear, Oliver. I think Prince Iain would like to crawl around for a bit. Would you be so kind as to watch as he inches his way among the guests?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Lyn really wonders what Sharon's been taking - or drinking. Her long, lustrous hair is entirely her own, just as natural as Sharon's bubble butt in fact. Poor Sharon, she's clearly hallucinating.

Aw look at Prince Iain, he's crawling, isn't he just so cute!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sharon is being very mean today Lyn. Mary pats Lyn on the back to stop her sobbing. She is proud of her hair and Sharon has gone too far.
Mary shakes herself making sure to wet Sharon, then she picks up a chocolate desert, gooey and rich. With a flick of her hand she firmly squishes it into Sharon's pasty face.
    Now Lyn is laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Emma, please excuse the other girls behavior, there are jealousy issues as you can see.
My boy Iain is crawling, AWHHHH! How cute. Junior and Cuddles guard the baby with your lives. Junior struts over and sits by Iain gives him a big kiss then lays down so Iain can mess with him. Cuddles fly's overhead and keeps guard while Junior and the baby play.
He is so cute and cuddly Emma, I want to sniff his sweet head! I love that baby smell.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Such a darling prince and the two mascots guarding him is so precious. You must be so proud, Emma. Mary and Lyn, turn around so Oliver can zap you. Emma is far to gracious and polite to tell you warts are popping out every time you tell a lie. Oliver, stop trying to zap them. There are only 100 shots in the gun and you've used them all but one. Such a chuckle chuckle gruesome two

    ReplyDelete
  62. Such feisty ladies today! I love feisty.

Careful, Iain likes to pull hair and squeeze boobies, as we call them. I'm hoping it's his first word so he can shock the in-laws. *Evil laugh.*

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well that's easy enough Emma, just keep saying boobies to him. Especially when the milk train arrives.

Feisty? Well I prefer to just make sure Sharon takes her medications on time and the Lyn is sober. I told you that they both escaped from a mental institution right? Don't worry they love kids, it's okay.

So you've published two shorts? What's next for you Emma?

    ReplyDelete
  64. You'll have to excuse Mary, Princess Emma, ever since her operation she's had a 'boobie' fixation.

No Mary sweetie, I'm not being nasty, 'specially when you got Sharon back, for me, when she said those nasty things about my hair. Hmm, we don't try to pretend her bubble butt is false now, do we!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone but they both had lobotomies. Be gentle with them.
Yes, Lyn, I think the feet are enough, now she's messin' with your hair. You want to team up. We could do some really fun things to her?

Emma wanna watch. Did you mention water torture Lyn?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sharon raises her glass to Emma. I love it! Sometimes shocking people is soooo rewarding, and with an innocent baby, the possibilities are endless. Hat's off!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Sharon, very proud of her bubble butt, turns and wiggles for all she's worth. The prince breaks out in loud laughter and points and clapps!
Sharon dances around him singing, "Shake your bootie!"

    ReplyDelete
  68. They can't help themselves. The other two hostess's join in with Sharon as she shakes her booty. Mary and Lyn shake their butts, puny next to Sharon's, but big enough nonetheless! They dance all around the room. The prince and princess mother hysterically enjoy the dancing threesome.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Sisters - sisters, never were there such devoted sisters!

OK, we're not really sisters, we just act like it, and that old song is one that's placed incessantly on old holo-casts from Earth, none of us is THAT old!

I love to hear a baby chuckle.

Sharon's wiggling her bubble butt for all she's worth, Mary shakes her boobies, Lyn just shakes her head in amazement!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Too much fun! Prince Iain loves dancing. Especially when body parts are wiggled. He's had so much fun, he has passed out in a stupor.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi Emma! The book looks fabulous. Congrats on it and on your son. My little prince is just over two...so a little head of yours. They do make life more interesting!

    ReplyDelete
  72. What's next for me? Well, after the move, I hope to get some time to finish a few wips, which includes at least one book.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Hi, Joelle! I ask everyone with a child around two...are they really that terrible? Iain's a doll and I can't imagine.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Never terrible, just they get into things and can make a terrible mess.

While Mary shakes her boobies, Sharon's butt is jiggling with the music and Lyn is tapping her large feet to make a drum sound!

Sisters, just love to tease each other!

    ReplyDelete
  75. How many aliens does it take to change a lightbulb? three, one to hold it and two to turn the ladder.
I am impreesed by the devotion to saving your guest. i also love the food.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Popping in to wave 'hi'. I see everyone's having a blast! Emma, the story sounds wonderful. I definitely need to purchase a copy! Wish I could stay longer but I must be off. Have fun all!

    Cheers,

  77. Hi Joelle, Barbara and Sky. What fun we're having with the young prince and Lady Emma. /Grab Oliver and some food and green cocktail guaranteed to make you shake your bootie. Barbara, see what you're in for next week!

  78. Thanks for stopping in, Sky! This party has been hoppin' all day long.

  79. Aw, look Baby Iain is fast asleep between Junior's paws and Cuddles if fanning him gently with his wings.

Princess Emma, I know Oliver's been dying to dance with you all day. If you want to get up and sake your stuff a bit, the Llittle Prince will be quite safe!

Hello Joelle, Barbara and Sky. Great answer, Barbara.

  80. Dancing, yeah, you should be dancing, yeah!!! Mary picks up the little prince and dances around the room with him in her arms. He laughs hysterically.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I had to pick him up he was wide awake.
    He loves it!!

  82. Hi Emma,
Congratulations on your roast and toast. Love the sounds of His Ship Her Fantasy. Hugs to your little prince, he must be starting to get a big boy now.

    Regards
    Margaret

  83. Aw go on Mary, admit it. You couldn't resist waking him with your singing! (Lyn and all the guests clap their hands to their ears while Oliver runs around dishing out ear plugs.) Baby Prince Iain is oblivious to the din, his head nestled against Mary's enormous fake boobies, he can't hear a thing and dozes off again!

  84. This is one weird party. I want a drink of that green stuff and some of the chocolate cake, but I won't fit into my bathing suit tomorrow at the pool!
Emma, I knew we had a special bond--I have a six-month old great granddaughter who smiles and laughs and giggles all the time, too, and can't imagine her at two!
Relatives tell me I have a bizarre imagination, but I can honestly say it doesn't compare to yours! Your books sound like fairy tales I loved as a kid--way out there.
By the way, it takes a lttle over 500 people to change the globe--a bipartisan act of the entire congress. Thanks for hosting me the other day, and for having me at your Roast! Here's a toast to you.
Would love to add my cover, but that's beyond this dinosaur's capability.

  85. Mary holds Iain protectively then brings him to the princess.
He's a joy Emma and sleeping soundly. I'm glad you got to dance with Oliver.
I loved both of your books Emma. What's up next? Anything in the works?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Eleanor, just post it on your yahoo profile. It will let you browse for it when you update your profile.

Mary flops down on a strange chair.
    Tired and danced out.

  87. I made it!!! Whew. I have one of Emma's magnet's on my fridge of this book and I love it. Hope everyone has been especially sweet to Emma. Hard being a new mother, but so fun.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hi Margaret, Hi Eleanor, lovely to see you both, hope you can stay a while and enjoy the party. *Grin* yes, our parties are 'weird'! 'Weird' is what we do! LOL.

By the way, Ellie, brilliant answer, and all our food has loads of taste but no calories, they're not allowed!

  89. Everyone loves Emma! How could they not!
And Iain I want to sniff his head!

  90. Hi Patsy, Eleanor and Joelle. We're having such fun with Emma and her young Iain. Let's all get out there and shake things up. Hi Margaret. Glad you could make the space party. Look at the prince shake his fist and laugh!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Congratulations on your new release and your son!

Love chocolate!!!! Those pics look mouth watering good.

How Many Aliens does it take to change a light globe? Well of course it's Four. One to try to figure out how it's done. One with a glowing finger so they can see to change it. One to abduct anybody who comes too close. And one to protect their flying saucer so no one steals it.

    Take Care!

  92. Oh, I like that one!
Emma what a wonderful day! I'll bet this party goes on all nite long!
Of course the prince will have to have his crib.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hi Patsy, thanks for dropping by.
Yes, we all love Emma and her little Prince and are trying to make her day funm without wearing her out too much!

    ReplyDelete
  94. No sooner said than done! Cuddles flies in with a wonderfully comfortable crib bedecked with blue ribbons and sets it down. He and Junior pull back the soft cover so that Emma can lay him down to sleep.

Hello Karen - yes it's a pity it's only virtual chocolate, isn't it - but that's what makes it not fattening and we all have vivid imaginations here!

Talking about imaginations, another great answer!

  95. Hi Tiffany. Welcome to Emma Lai's party, come in and join the fun!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Whew! The Prince is fast asleep in his crib! Let the real party begin! Where's Oliver? I'm ready for another twirl around the floor and bring me a glass of the green stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  97. *Emma with glass in hand twirls by.* Mary, you may sniff away at the Prince's head. He is blissfully asleep.

    ReplyDelete
  98. *After another spin around the floor.* Hi, Ellie! Nice of you to drop in. Yes, I do have a bizarre imagination. I have been in the head of serial killers. DH thinks I should write horror.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks, Margaret! I've always called him "Little Man," and he's done his best to live up to it. He just sprouted an inch and a half in the last two weeks!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Hi, Patsy! Being a new mother is time consuming especially when the little one takes only catnaps during the day and is go, go, go the rest. I must confess I have my magnets on the refrigerator. Love those covers!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Everyone is so sweet. I'm sure my cheeks are bright red from the compliments. I feel so guilty for not having made the rounds more lately, but it's hard between work, edits and the move.

  102. Sharon strolls in. The green bubbly glasses are turned upside down, all empty as the guests/aliens sleep. The prince flies through the air on Cuddles back, giggling and gurgling, Junior yipping at his heels. Oliver cooks breakfast for Princess Emma and the others slowly wake to the tantalyzing aroma of bacon and eggs. Lyn sits upright and scratches her bald head, a look of alarm coming into her purple eyes as she searches for her wig. But not even the waking dead can rouse Mary Ricksen as disgusting wheezes erupt from her gaping mouth, her fake hooters rising and falling with every breath. Just another roast and toast.

Sharon goes to kitchen for some food to keep her girlish figure, waves to Tiffany and Karen.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Special thanks to Emma and the young prince Iain for a delightful roast today. What fun we had. Emma, best of luck with all your books and all you do! You made the day so very special.
    Sharon

  104. Emma is now feeding breakfast to the little prince. As Sharon sips on her morning coffee, she nearly chokes. What, this can't be. Junior and Cuddles are playing ball with one of Mary's fake hooters. Wow, look at it roll and straight into the pool. SPLASH! The silicone mellon sinks to the bottom... Sharon and Emma break into hysterical laughter. The little prince, points and screams, "Boobies!"

    ReplyDelete
  105. Lyn stirs and wakes, runs her hand through her thick and luscious tresses, slips her tiny feet into the purple, outsize shoes they insisted she wear, and smiles as she sees Oliver heading in her direction with a plate of eggs, sunnyside up, with a little lightly grilled bacon and some wholemeal bread.

Mary, is still snoring, bless her, and most of the guests are still asleep. Princess Emma, looking radiant as ever - you'd never think she'd danced most of the night away with the dashing and gallant Oliver. She and the little Prince watch Cuddles and Junior play hide and seek behind Sharon's inormous bubble butt.

Poor Sharon, she has that far-away look on her face again, it's obvious she's had too much of the green stuff and is once more having negative hallucinations about her dear fellow hostesses.

An inferiority complex is a terrible thing! LOL

  106. Thank you so much Emma and little Iain for being such lovely guests. It's been a real delight having you and I hope you enjoyed our nonsense, and being a space princess for the day. Good luck with your books and your future releases and may all your wishes and aspirations come true

  107. Thank you ladies! The Prince and I had a fabulous time. He has fallen in love with Cuddles. I'll Have to bring him by for regular visits!

    ReplyDelete
  108. oh, PRINCESS EMMA, what a big imagination you have! Why did you not bring the Bonnie Prince along? You know we're all more intereste din him than those tacky aliens! So cute, so flirty, so....You! Celia

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hi Celia

How lovely to see you here - I think there are still plenty of goodies left, Oliver will be pleased to help you to whatever you fancy!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Geese... I'm late... always late. If I were a period I'd be pregnant! Sorry, Emma. I actually have both these books in my Nook if only I could take a moment to read them! ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hi Catherine

Don't worry, no-one gets left behind at the roast. Oh I do know what you mean about getting time to read, my own pile of to-be-reads nearly reaches the ceiling! Anyway, we're glad you could drop by, thanks for commenting, it's always nice to 'see' you.
