As many of you may know, our beloved sister hostess SHARON DONOVAN, tragically passed away on 11th April 2012. We who knew her, loved her, and were inspired by her courage and determination to face head on whatever life threw at her. When she could no longer see to paint she turned to writing and showed her amazing talent in the Inspirational Romance and Romantic Suspense genres, and her story 'Charade Of Hearts' was awarded the coveted Predators and Editors Award in January 2011.

This Blog was a source of great delight to her, she was one of the founder hostesses and she contributed to the fun and silliness in her own original way, and was kind enough to let her unique creation, the hunky butler 'Oliver' join us for our Friday romp and prepare 'virtual breakfast' for the guests on the following morning. It's beyond hard to have to go on without her, but we know that she would have been the first to insist that 'the show must go on.' She is, and will always be with us in spirit.
Sharon, dear friend, we will never forget you.
The Author Roast and Toast is part of the legacy you left us. Let's raise a Toast to you as well as all our guests.

Deanna Jewel has an 18th Century Yorkshire Roast

Just a few miles from historic Richmond castle, the majestic Yorkshire  mansion stands under the azure sky, poised ready to welcome a very special guest.  In front of its terraced lawns and gardens, the waves of the North sea. in the distance, lap gently against the shore.  Inside Mary, Lyn and Sharon are putting the final touches to their costumes.

"The powder from this  wig  is tickling my nose, Mary exclaims, knocking  Lyn flat with the violence of her sneezes. She and Sharon take a hand each and pull Lyn back up.  She smooths the folds of her purple silk damask gown, frowning at Mary.

"Do I still look all right?

"You're fine," Sharon assures her, "I think we all look fantastic in these 18th century gowns.  She fans herself delicately with her lace fan.  She looks beautiful in turquoise silk with a pale blue underskirt.  Mary looks lovely too, and is the picture of elegance in deepest claret, with a gold underskirt and trimmings.

An elegant schooner lies at anchor in the secluded bay, while further out to sea is a black sailed galleon - could this be the mysterious pirate ship, whose crew is rumoured to pay a friendly visit to these parts from time to time?

In the mirrored ballroom with its myriad chandaliers, the orchestra is tuning up in preparation of the evening's ball.  The tables in the dining hall groan beneath the weight of the banquet laid ready for the guests.  Oliver has taken special care over the deserts and as well as small chunks of  Devil's Food cake and  ripe English strawberries, there are bananas, pineaapples and a variety of fruits brought from exotic locations by Oliver's pirate friends.  Some fruits are still in their skins, for the guests to help themselves, and some he has meticulously cut into pieces just the right size for dipping in the various fondues he has prepared, including luxurious velvety brown chocolate and Gingered White Chocolate.
In pride of place is the large Devils Food Cake Oliver has made specially for Deanna, decorated with caramel coconut frosting, with strawberries and hand piped roses, and the cover of 'No Turning Back' painstakingly formed out of fondant icing.

There is, of course, a plentiful supply of the finest wines and other beverages, to suit all tastes.

Oliver himself, dressed in a fetching blue captain's coat, with knee high boots and a tricorner hat, is checking the barrels of best Jamaican rum. to make sure there will be plenty for his pirate friends, should they decide to join the party.

"Oliver," Sharon calls, "Come quickly, I think I hear the coach drawing near!" she pauses.
"And I do hope that moustache you've suddenly sprouted is a false one!"

They all rush to the door as the coach pulls up and Deanna, looking absolutely stunning in a sky blue Marie Antonnette style gown steps from it, to be greeted by Oliver who bows low and kisses her hand, before the three hostesses run to hug her in turn.

In the dining hall, Oliver turns to the waiting guests and holds his hands up for silence as he escorts Deanna to her seat.  "Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the famous Deanna Jewel."  When the thunderous applause has died down. he holds up her book 'No Turning Back' and reads out loud:

NO TURNING BACK

Blurb

While avenging the death of his fiancé years earlier, Nathan learns that he CAN love again. Will the woman he wants also learn to love again?

She’s head strong, flaunts London aristocracy and takes on breeding horses, something unheard of in the society circles of London.  Vanessa finds herself trying to put the pieces of her life back together, but can she do it alone? With a child on the way, she is forced to do just that; their future depends on her strength. Then a friend wants to help. Dare she trust a man sworn to carry out a vow taken on a death bed? She refuses to accept that his love is true when his honor of sticking to his word is also at stake.

NO TURNING BACK
Excerpt
Michael ‘Nathaniel’ Clairmont, the Fourth Duke of North Yorkshire, crumpled the missive he’d received from his fiancée’s parents as he raked his fingers through his shoulder length hair. Fear tightened his chest as he stepped to the door and called to his squire. “Prepare Caesar, now!”
Stepping back into the room, he addressed his longtime friend, Anthony Faulkner. “I’m going to see Lady Stockholm’s parents. Clarissa is missing. Are you with me?”
Faulkner jammed his tricorn hat atop his head. “Bloody right I am!”
Moments later, after meeting with the Stockholm’s, Michael urged his bay Barb to greater speed along side Anthony’s. An unnatural scattering of branches and leaves strewn about the road ahead caught his attention. He reined Caesar and dismounted for a closer look. Footprints of horses and men marred the dirt and led deeper into the woods where the underbrush lay trampled and broken.
After tethering Caesar to a branch, he motioned for Faulkner to follow him along the path. A piece of green silk shimmered atop a briar bush, and Michael grabbed up the soft material. It was the color he’d last seen on Clarissa. The fragrance of jasmine assailed his senses. His eyes widened in recognition of the scent...the same one Clarissa wore!
He gripped the material in his fist. Bile rose in his throat as fear knotted his gut. Though afraid of what he’d find ahead, he pushed forward; low-hanging branches slapped at his face and caught at his shoulder-length hair. He pushed the foliage out of his way and tromped the underbrush in his desperate search.
When he reached out to block another branch, a silk stocking skimmed his face and he grabbed the stocking for inspection. Michael looked at Faulkner’s worried face, swore under his breath and moved on but a foreboding feeling ate at his senses, almost like being watched.
He couldn’t miss a gown strewn atop the bushes. The shock that tore throughout his system stopped Michael dead in his tracks, his muscles recoiling in reaction. Meticulously arranged over the waist-high bushes, as if in preparation for wear, lay a dark green silk gown, a vicious tear low in the neckline. His gaze moved slowly over the material. Tightness gripped his chest, feeling as though someone had reached in and squeezed his heart, the pain so intense it burned. He touched Faulkner’s arm, and gritted his teeth. “It’s the gown Clarissa wore at the ball last night,he said in a gut-wrenching rasp. His gaze searched the area until the very thing he wanted to avoid seeing lay before him. His body froze.
A bare, delicate ankle peeked from beneath the underbrush.
Lunging forward like a wild beast, ravaging the area, throwing branches and uprooting ferns, he uncovered her body...clad only in her white satin chemise, splattered with her own blood.
His tortured scream echoed throughout the surrounding forest as he fell to his knees beside her battered body. Praying she might hear, he whispered her name. Touching her bruised cheek - he found it still warm. A flicker of hope ignited within his heart as he pressed his fingertips against the slim column of her throat. Moments later, finding no trace of a pulse, that slight flicker of hope extinguished itself. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts at who could be her killer.

  2. Good morning Jennifer, you're bright and early and very welcome. Do let Oliver fetch you some refreshments while we're waiting for our Guest of Honor and all the others to arrive.

Yes, he is 'yum' isn't he! Very 'yum'. No Oliver, we weren't actually talking about you this time, although you're pretty 'yum' too LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Hey, Deanna! Welcome to your roast! You look so elegant, m'dear. And your book sounds so intriguing, just like your hero. Oliver, stop drooling over Lady Deanna. Oops, there goes a keg of rum. Oh, dear, he gets so excited when confronted by a beautiful woman. But never fear, he'll bring a drink for you and there's plenty to eat. Jennifer, welcome. Have some food and drinks. Enjoy your day, Deanna!

  4. Hello ladies! You look gorgeous! I love the mansion and the carriage ride was a treat!

Oliver, thank you for reading about my book! You do look dashing this evening!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Good morning Sharon and welcome from me to Deanna too.

Oh dear, Cuddles and Junior are lapping up the rum that Oliver spilt. Now they'll be even more unmanageable than usual, LOL. (Perhaps it'll have the opposite effect though, and put them to sleep!)

  6. I do hope I'm not late, ladies.

*accepts a chocolate martini from Oliver*

MMMMM....this is fabulous, Oliver. I must taste the strawberries (dipping it into the chocolate fondue and biting into the juicy fruit, then licking the chocolate from my fingers)

messy but yummy, Sharon, you must try these!

  7. *stepping over to the tracery windows to gaze out over the North Sea at the ships*

No wonder Nathan enjoys it in these parts. The view is so pretty. Thank you for such a nice party Hywela and Sharon!

  8. Thank you, Deanna, may I say how absolutely beautiful you look too. I'm so glad you enjoyed the carriage ride. We were going to harness up the Cleveland Bsys, but thought two nice black cobs would suit the carriage better.

Your book sounds wonderful, I loved the excerpt, sad though it was. Nathan is such a hunky hero, is there any chance he may join us do you think?

Now stop pouting Oliver, you always get to drool over the ladies - it's time WE had aomw drool time!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hi Lyn, oh dear, Cuddles and Junior are lapping up the rum strong enough to sink the ship. LOL Deana, you realize things may get a bit rocky on the high seas! The roasts have been known to get pretty wild, isn't that right, Lyn?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Nathan did say he would be here sometime today, if the King can spare him a few hours away.

I enjoyed writing this one too. I love anything set in England and especially the castles. One day I hope to visit and take the tours, to feel the history inside each one. I know life wasn't easy for most back then but the books always make it sound so romantic.

Oliver, you are dashing! Those eyes of your are mezmorizing, darling!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Where did Jennifer slip off to? Is she outside on the veranda looking for the pirates?

I do hope Langley doesn't show his face here today. He's not a nice man at all!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oliver blushes, and takes off his hat to present Deanna with a long, sweeping bow.

Yes, I agree with you about the castles Deanna (we have many of them in Wales as well, I spent a lot of my childhood exploring the one at Aberystwyth) As you say they always sound so romantic in stories, although I imagine they'd have been rather cold and draughty. Nice to use a bit of romantic poetic licence though!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oooh shiver. Yes that Langley doesn't sound nice at all. (I saw him in your video) Good job Oliver's pirate friends are really good guys at heart, we may have need of their help!

    ReplyDelete
  14. You're right, Jennifer does seem to have gone missing, I hope she's all right. Cuddles, Junior, if you can still walk after lapping up all that rum, go see if you can find Jennifer will you? and while you're at it see where our Mary's disappeared too. Last time I saw her she was covered in chcolate fondue and devil's food cake. Perhaps she's gone to clean up. Oooh er, I hope she hasn't been kidnapped or anything!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Langley is a bad man? Mmm. Sounds interesting. So perhaps we'll have a bad pirate aboard! Well, sounds fun. I agree about the castles. I've been to one in Ireland and it was a bit drafty, but romantasizing them is so timeless and elegant. Speaking of castles, who would care for a glass of mead? Oh Oliver, get the mead out, dear heart.

    ReplyDelete
  16. pssst, Sharon, do you think I might get to dance with Oliver? Would he be excused from his duties long enough for a stroll on the dance floor later? The orchestra music is beautiful too, thank you for bringing them in!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Mead? Mead? did someone mention mead? Oh, yes Oliver, of course you must offer some to Deanna first, she is the Gue3st of Honour!

(But don't forget I quite like a little drop, myself!)

    ReplyDelete
  18. King George and Queen Charlotte love balls. I wouldn't be surprised to see them here later either. There are more arriving but I've invited so many. I can't wait to see who shows up tonight!

mmmm....love the mead! The flavor just rolls over the tongue, no? How yummy!

Sharon, you are going to get dizzy spinning on the dance floor like that, now be careful please!

Oliver, you might have to escort her to her seat for a bit, I'd hate to see her fall and mess up her wig!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oliver reluctantly releases Deanna's hand as soon as the music of the dance finishes, and leads Sharon to the nearest seat before striding back to Deanna and pressing her hand to his lips.

Oh Deanna, do you really think the King and Queen might show up, that would be so exciting!

Meanwhile, let's enjoy the mead, the wine, the fruit and the fondues, and dance while we wait for everyone else to turn up. We usually find most people arrive as it's getting dark and they have the whole evening to look forward to.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hope Mary was able to get rid of the sneezes from the powder and that she's ok. Maybe Jennifer went to look for her and that's why they are both missing.

*refilling my glass with mead then heading upstairs to peek over the balcony rail and watch from above for awhile, the crowd is growing and I will be able to see everyone from up here*

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes, Cuddles and Junior are usually able to locate anyone who goes missing from our parties - although in the sozzled state they're in ...

Yes, the balcony's a great idea, you can see all your adoring followers - and there's a wonderful view of the sea as well!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lyn, I don't have my looking glass but is that Mary and Sharon heading out to the ship in that boat? They wouldn't go looking Nathan yet would they? And to venture out to the ship without telling us?

Perhaps they are heading to the pirate ship! That could be dangerous! Maybe it's not them, I just can't see that far away, but...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh glory! Oliver lend me your spyglass a moment, would you?

Well I'm not sure if there are two figures in that boat, Deanna, or three. You don't think they've been kidnapped or something do you?

We can only hope Cuddles will be able to reach them, if he can still fly, when he's full of rum. Or perhaps Junior can reach Mary telepathically. Oh dear. Let's hope we're mistaken.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of rum, Sharon sings, loud and off key and a little drunk. Now, Lynnie, you know I wouldn't be caught dead in a boat with Mary Ricksen, the traitor! Deanna, she's out to get me. Just wait and see, that one is a very bad person. Hang onto your wig when she's around. Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of rummmmmmmmmmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cuddles is doing summersolts. Who knew unicorns could dislodge their hhorn!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh dear, oh dear.

Methinks Sharon may have had just a touch of ye olde rum! LOL!

Surely Mary wouldn't harm a fly! She's a pussy cat!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Deanna, dear, mmmm. Langley isn't so bad. We were ... ah... taking a walk about the castle... and he's promised to help get even with the traitor Ricksen.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hi Deanna!! Actually Oliver reminds me of the pirate from the Captain Morgan Rum commercials.(lol) Which if you don't mind--I think I'll have the Jamaican Rum Oliver plans on giving to the pirates. Oliver hon' please add a splash of coke & a lime to mine, thanks...(wink.)I can't wait to read No Turning Back, it's going to be wonderful. BTW, I'm wearing lavender with a cream underskirt and a matching lavender fan. (giggles)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cuddles, what are you doing!

I dunno. Can't rely on anyone anymore. I'd ask Oliver to take the rowboat and sort 'em all out, but he's bound to get into more trouble - and someone has to stay here in case the bad guys turn up!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hi Witchy Woman, and welcome. You look beautiful, that lavender and cream really suits you!
Oliver, you heard the lady! A nice Jamaican rum laced with rum and lime please - and do try some of that delicious Devils Food Cake. Guaranteed no calories! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. Perhaps I should've mentioned this earlier,I'm a fiery redheaded witch. Let's see if I can cast a spell on Langley; if he tries to crash the roast---he'll be walking the plank under my hypnotic spell. What say you Sharon, Deanna and Hywela?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Witchy Woman!! *hugs*

I am sooo glad you could make it this evening! I'm so excited. We've planned this for a few months now and the event is finally here and we're having a wonderful time. Love your gown!

Oliver, you're a sweetheart for bringing Witchy her favorite drink, thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I say we're in good hands, Witchy Woman! Ho Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum Oh, Oliver, about that rum and coke with a splash? Deanna, when you go up on the balcony, keep an eye out for the Traitor Ricksen. She's a mean one. Witchy Woman, can you cast a spell and turn her into a toad?

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL....Sharon, just stay away from the stairway with all you've been tasting so far. We wouldn't want you to take a spill, dear.

Witchy, casting a spell on Langley may be a good thing for sure. I'm glad you are anxious to read the next novel, thank you so much. I've made some good changes to the original manuscript and its so close to being submitted. My hope is to have it sent off by Sunday to the printer, then it'll be available online in about two weeks!

Langley is just a sleaze, for sure though.....eewww! LOL

Sharon, I'll keep an eye out for Mary, but she can't possibly be as bad as a traitor, can she?? No way!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thank God I got rid of that Langley guy. He kept offering to help me get back at Sharon. I don't want to hurt her so I told him to tip off.
This little boat is making me nauseous. But the pirates were willing to help me. This ship was hidden around a bend and no one knows where I was. Tee, He, He!!!
Wait till they see what I have planned. My best ever, yeow! I'm good.
Thanking the scruffy men who helped her out of the water Mary approaches everyone smiling.
"Sorry I had to leave. But I'm here for the duration. Oh yummy rum runners! Hey, everyone miss me? You'll never guess where I was." And I won't tell them till it's time. "Hi, Deanna, looking good girl!"

    ReplyDelete
  36. Darn Witchy Woman is here. I don't want to get into any spell fighting here. So I'll be nice to her.
The other girls don't know I have Celtic powers. So I don't want to cast spells unless I have to.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Mary, hi darling! I must tell you, stay away from Langley! He is a bad apple and takes advantage of women! Don't let him sweet talk you. I'm glad you're back safe and sound but did I hear you right - you've been making plans with the pirates? Woman, that will not be good!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Damn that Sharon, she's been bad mouthing me since I wasn't here. Wait and see smart a.. Sharon, you'll get yours. I can outwit you anytime. \\\\
I have to stay focused. When all hell breaks loose, she'll pay.

Oh Hi, Sharon, Lyn, Deanna, kiss, kiss. Sorry about my delay, but I had to arrange some things.

    ReplyDelete
  39. *hiccup*

Oliver, dear, could you bring more mead and add a few splashes of rum too please! LOL

Ladies, I do have to thank you for doing such a nice job of getting the mansion ready for this evening! And thank you for putting the contest box by the door so the guests can slip in their responses! Several have dropped theirs in.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, whoever he is, he's yuckey.
Oh those guys, never worry, they have nothing to do with you. You look lovely Deanna, not a guest can compare!

Under her breath, Mary, chuckles. This place is gonna be jumpin' soon! Ha,ha,ha,ha, Mary laughs, her plans will shock Sharon. And she will never see it coming.

    ReplyDelete
  41. By the way. How did Junior get drunk?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Witchy woman - love the red hair/ Two of mu heroines, Jess ad Katt have red hair! I'm sure you'll be able to protect us from that nasty sounding Langley.

Mary, it's good to see you and Sharon back safe. Cuddles and Junior as well. As for him and Junior being drunk - we er - somehow one of the barrels toppled over/ It's all clear now though.

ARe you and Sharon still continuing this feud of yours then? How long has it been?

    ReplyDelete
  43. She started it. Always spilling something on my new dress, always trying to get the good looking guys ahead of me, she's sneaky. Under that innocent facade, is a real scrapper. I didn't start it, but I will have the last laugh.
Other then that, let me warn you, come the stroke of one. (EST)Just hide, okay?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oooh Mary, honestly, if I didn't know you girls love each other really!

1 O'clock. Hmm Lets see that'll be about 6 pm over here in the UK! I'll make myself scarce, then, I know what happens when you and Sharon start scrapping LOL!

Deanna, I'd get Oliver to take you somewhere quiet if I were you, if things start getting er-um heated! The West wing is very interesting he tells me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mary's not all she seems to be,
    Claims Celtic's in her blood.
    Yet, what she doesn't know,
Wind elements sift through Witchy's blood.
Sharon, let's go have another rum. Keep your eyes peeled for Langley or Mary. Uh...or...at the very least, try to keep your eyes "open." Maybe I'll have that
second drink---you can have a coffee. (lol)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Witchy Woman, shouldn't underestimate my powers. And my golems that help me. She just has no idea. Wind, I control all four elements. Beware the stroke of one.
Tick tock, tick tock, Sharon's gonna find her head on the block, tick tock. Don't worry it's just to scare her.
I do love her, that's why. there is just that little devil in me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. By the way Deanna, I gotta have your book, sounds fantastic!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lyn, does the west wing have the art gallery and the suits of armor? I know I can trust Oliver for a nice stroll later on if things get heated in here.

Mary, you and Sharon have to control your tempers ladies....lol...these little skirmishes aren't good for either of you. Hmmm....let's see, 1 EST is only 10 am out here in the west...LOL

    ReplyDelete
  49. Deanna, what I tell ya, girl? That Mary's a mean one and she's out to get me. Ha. But I have a few Celtic powers of me own. Witchy Woman, belly up to the bar. Oliver, stop winking and get us some rum and cokes. And more mead for Deanna and Lyn. The traitor thinks she's so clever. Deanna, what fun on the high seas! I'm lovin' your party!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Mary, thank you, it's been fun to write. I love it when the characters teach us a thing or two as we write. Vanessa breeds horses and she taught me so much during the editing of this book. She does love her Arabian horses! Nathan does too so when he arrives, you must talk to him about that, he's pretty passionate! oopss, about his horses! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  51. As Mary trades pleasantries with Deanna, dozens of boats are lowered from the pirate ship hidden around the cove. Each one covers themself with a cloak of invisibility. Soon the small boats holding twenty disappear as they approach shore. Each one has a specific task. They are gonna steal Deanna's books if they can.
After today Mary will live in infamy. Whatever that is.
Time is short as they exit the boats and approach the mansion. Sharon, is their main focus.

    ReplyDelete
  52. We may have to get the rowboats and head out to tour Nathan's ship later. That could be fun!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well, you know what they say Mary;forewarned is forearmed. My wind element may not "pack" that punch all your elements have, but it can sure send you tripping through time. (Ha,ha)Ladies, it's been fun--I need to go pick up my little apprentices, I'll pop in later for another drink. Mayhap, I'll run into gorgeous Nathan! I'll be back Deanna!

    ReplyDelete
  54. She calls me a traitor. She's the one doing all those blogs on her site. She's the one who started this. She's the sneaky one. And she is the one who will pay!!!

    Yuh, huh, huh!

    ReplyDelete
  55. bye Witchy, so glad you could pop in and I look forward to seeing you later. It means a lot that you stopped to chat, thanks

    ReplyDelete
  56. Aha! The witch is gone, thank goodness, I won't have to fight her.
Sharon is smiling, looking so cute.
    Tick, tock.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ladies, the party is going so well, thank you again for a wonderful day! I know there will be others stopping by soon. At least the dance floor is crowded and they are enjoying the music.

Lyn, the pirates have me worried that they took Mary aside and were making plans to crash the party. She wouldn't have Sharon kidnapped would she??

    ReplyDelete
  58. Deanna, isn't it the truth about the characters teaching and talking. They have minds of their own, huh? I had one appear to me in a dream and tell me it was all wrong and he wanted to be younger and better looking. Do these things happen to you?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sharon, LOL...can't say I've dreamed of my characters. I've not been that lucky yet though they do talk to me quite often. As I'm searching for look-alike pictures of them, sometimes they keep me searching for hours before finally agreeing to let me chose a pic!

    ReplyDelete
  60. NOW!!!!! Smoke bombs fill the air. the pirates run into the mansion and grab women as they run in. (Well they are pirates). The women disappear beneath the invisibility capes. One Each their captain yells. A women on the side is snatched and under the cape her handsome pirate kisses her silly and drags her back to the ship. The captain of the ship, hmmm. looks a bit like Johnny Depp, is out to grab Sharon. (I want to have her kidnapped not hurt, and he is hot, hot, hot.) He spies her and rushes to her. She looks up into his brilliant baby blues and swoons. He picks her limp body up and gently touches her face. His head snaps up at the sound of sirens and he runs to the boat with Sharon under his cape. Since the pirates left the party goes on. One of the pirates stayed to court Deanna. If Oliver would only move aside.
Yee Hah!!!!! They got the bully. She's in a handsome pirates arms and the ship heads into a time travel mode. Snaps out of sight and no trace is left. BRAAHaHaHa! She's been kidnapped. Oh my there is another pirate eyeing Lyn. She gives him a smile. Things are quiet. No one knows what time in history the ship is. No one can save Sharon, no on can bring her back, but me. Tee He.
Ding dong the bully is gone, open your eyes the deed is done!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Deanna, sorry I got a little distracted there!

I hope Nathan does call in so we can talk horses. I'm intrested to know why he chose a Barb rather than an Arabianm I know Barbs are great little horses, and fast, but Arabians are so beautiful - see you've got me started now, did you know I'm a horse fanatic?

Yes, the West Wing has the most fantastic Art gallery and suits of armor - and a library. Oliver will be only too delighted to show you around.

Wiatchy woman, it's been great talking to you, hope to see you later.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Um Deanna, Sharon decided to leave for awhile. She'll be back, maybe. So Oliver, another drink for Deanna!
Lyn, you have a hickey on your neck.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Woww! What's happening? Oooh hiya handsome, where did you come. I recognise you, you're one of Oliver's pirate friends aren't you? The good ones not those nasty mean ones I read about. You lot are more like the Robin Hoods of the seas! Where's Sharon? What's going on. I'm sure this is all that naughty Mary's doing. She's been dying to get one over on Sharon. Good job Deanna's safe in the West Wing with Oliver. He'll look after her.

    ReplyDelete
  64. LMAO - Mary, you do have a crazy side. Did you have to pay those pirates a ransom to take Sharon? Gosh, my side hurts from laughing! That was quite a raid and maybe the smoke will clear soon so the guests can come in from the veranda and help with the stawberries and fondue.

Oliver, come taste the chocolate on this strawberry, dear....oh my...LOL...don't bite my finger....ummm....was that good?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sharon on the pirates ship awakens from her swoon. Those same sky blue eyes are starting at her. Attached to the eyes is a handsome pirate, a Johnny Depp lookalike with more muscles and smelling good. He lowers his warm, soft lips. to hers. Tenderly he kisses her and she raises her arms to circle his neck. Mary looks into her crystal ball. Finally I got back at her. She is about to get married.
A young preacher opens his bible and mumbles some words. States you are married you may kiss the bride. Since they didn't stop kissing, they continue. He brings her to his cabin and closes the door. HAHAHA! I tricked her into getting hitched. If they are at it now. My plan is about to be complete. How can she get out of this one? Will she want to? Does she know that as a pirates wife she has to do pirate stuff and lots of dishes.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh, yes, handsome. I just love a wild man!!! Take me. I surrender. I'm yours!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Is Lyn still lip locked with one of the leftover pirates. Oh yes he looks, let me be sure, yes he looks like Gerard Butler. Darn Lyn take a breath will you.
Oliver keeps trying to kiss you Deanna, watch out he's a lover not a fighter.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Deanna, I fear you were right, it looks as if Mary's had Sharon kidnapped! Don't worry, I think these pirates are the ones who provided the exotic fruits for the party, and Oliver is well respected by them, they're not a bad lot, as pirates go! I'm sure Mary wouldn't allow any harm to come to Sharon, but I hope she manages to escape or she'll miss the rest of the party!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oooh but this guy is good looking, for a pirate! I see DEanna's safe, that's the main thing. Now, handsome, where were we?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Now that the deed is done Sharon. I have to tell you about your new husband. He doesn't have a job because he's a vampire. Has he bit you yet? He's really a good guy, it's not his fault he's a vampire. Right Sarin? This whole thing took a lot of planning. A man names Sarin marries Sharon and he's a vampire.
Sharon walks back into the party as Sarin took them forward in time to make the rest of the party. Sarin at her side Sharon walks into the ballroom. Two pin holes on her neck bleeding a last drop. She is married to a vampire and now she's a vampire. My plan has worked. She likes him too. He is sooooooo good looking. You have no idea. Lyn, stop a minute ain't Sharon's new husband a hottie?
What can Sharon do now? How will she handle her marriage and the fabulous vampire pirate she married. Mary gathers her powers, just in case. Hi Sharon, Mary smirks.

    ReplyDelete
  71. *entering the foyer of the mansion, slipping my contest entry into the box, my boots sound on the Italian tile as I walk toward the ballroom in search of Deanna*

Hello ladies.....*winking and flashing a huge smile, kissing Lyn and Mary on the cheek*

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh Nathan, hi nice to meet you. You're lookin' good tonite. How do you do? Mary smiles. Is this a sneak attack?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ugm Good Evening Nathan, how lovely to see you, I'm so glad you could join us. I'm sure Deanna will be back soon - she's just doing some, er, exploring in the West Wing!

May I tempt you to something to eat, and a glass of wine perhaps?

Sorry Sharon's not able to speak to you at the moment, she's not quite herself!

Now, I understand you're interested in horses?

    ReplyDelete
  74. My my, so this is our darling Nathan. Sharon purrs and holds out her hand to be kissed. Would you like a pirate's brew, a rum...or how about a tour of the castle? The North Sea? Oh, she swoons...

    ReplyDelete
  75. Thank you for such a warm welcome.

*taking Sharon's hand and placing a warm kiss on the back of it*

Pleased to meet all of you. I'd love a rum and mead, thank you.

Lyn, yes I breed for racing and they do quite well at the track if I may say so. You have quite a nice turn out this evening. I hear the pirates visited but didn't stay long, though they did make a mess a bit outside on the beach.

    ReplyDelete
  76. You're swooning? You're a married vampire for God's sake!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Quick Cuddles, while Sharon's out, tocuh her with your enchanted horn and change her back to human form again. We can't leave her as a vampore. I'm so glad you've sobered up, you can cure her vampire 'husband' while you're at it too, luckily she's not really married to him, that so-called preacher was a phony, he's one of the pirates in disguise, so the marriage was never legal!

Phew, thank goodness. Now things are back to normal we can get on with the party. Cuddles, you do have your uses sometimes!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Okay Nathan's cool. But Sharon is wacked, her husband kisses her again.
Hi, Sharon, how do you like being tricked into marriage? How do you like being a vampire?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Nice try Lyn, the preacher was a priest, Catholic, so she's gotta do better than that. And Cuddles cannot cure them, no matter how he tries. There is a special spell for it and only I know what it is. And you can't touch me! No matter how you try.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Nathan, that's so interesting about your racers. Do you breed Arabians or English Thoroughbreds for the racetrack?

Tou're right about the pirates, they're a messy lot, although I don't think it was entirely their doing, there have been naughty deeds afoot!

Let's go outside for a while,Nathan, I'd like to show you the stables.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I have to keep the spell a secret. It would take us back in time before the kidnapping. I want Sharon to be a vampire for just a bit. You know I'll give you the spell Lyn, but I have to leave it awhile. Just to hear her say uncle.

    ReplyDelete
  82. *entering the ballroom on Oliver's arm, laughing with him*

Oliver, thank you for the tour of the west wing, I love the suits of armor. Would you be so kind to refill my glass with mead and a few splashes of rum?

Nathan, darling...you made it! *hugging Nathan and giving him a welcome kiss*

thank you for stopping in to join us! I see the ladies have swooned over you already. Isn't he gorgeous, ladies....*ggl* I just love him!

    ReplyDelete
  83. *allowing Lyn to take my arm*

I'd be happy to tour the stables and see the horses you have. Are all your stalls full? How many Arabians do you own? We must go by the bar first and refill my glass.

Ladies, *wink* we'll be back shortly, I'm sure!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Deanna dear, I promise we'll return soon....Oliver, please keep her glass full?

    ReplyDelete
  85. so Lyn, tell me about your stables.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Is Nathan someone I should know? Mary asks Deanna, who is now taking a breath. All the adoration of her guests is amazing.
There are so many hot guys here today. Wow!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I hope Lyn doesn't keep Nathan out there long, though in the novel, he enjoyed being out in the stable with Vanessa! *wink* I'm sure Lyn can take care of herself and Nathan is a perfect gentleman.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Mary, Nathan is the captain and Duke from my novel No Turning Back. I'm so glad he came to the party but now he's in the stables! LOL He does love the horses!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Nathan is a very good looking man. Lyn will keep him as long as she can. She easy... I mean she's a flirt.

    ReplyDelete
  90. *opening my fan to hide my neck*

Sarin, I'm so pleased to meet you. You and Sharon make such a nice couple. The evening should be quite entertaining.

Sharon, you're looking a bit pale, my dear, are you feeling a little drained tonight? Perhaps you should sit a bit?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Sharon is a married vampire. Lyn is in the stables getting another hickey. And poor Nathan has no idea. She is so knowledgeable about horses. But so innocent at dating. Know what I mean.
It's been two and a half hours. Sharon better hurry if she doesn't do the spell by five pm. she stays that way.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Deanna we are the only normal ones left. Sarin and Sharon are still talking. Lyn is still necking with Nathan. And that leaves us. Oh look at the good looking fellow approaching. He wants to dance with you Deanna. Go for a twirl I'll greet the new guests which are arriving. There are a lot of people still showing up.

    ReplyDelete
  93. *taking the gentleman's arm, heading out to the dance floor*

Mary, are you sure? Thank you so much, we'll be right back, this will be fun, I love the orchestra and the waltz!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sharon tilts back her head and chortles. Mary! The marriage was never...well.. she leans close and whispters in Mary's ear, ah you know. And these vamp bites on my throat are from one of Deanna's pirates. So the joke's on you. Deanna, more spirits?

    ReplyDelete
  95. You mean that pirate lied to me? Drat. Well OK then, I can't do anything about her being married at the moment, but a Unicorn's horn always purifies anything it touches, ALWAYS! So there's no getting out of that one Mary dear. Seems I have to give in to you on the marriage bit though - for the moment (Did you know I have a reputation locally as 'The Welsh Witch?' It's a fact. Look it up in Which Witch if you don't believe me!) Still Sharon, it's not so bad being hitched to a charming, impossibly handsome pirate, is it?

    ReplyDelete
  96. *coming back from the waltz a bit out of breath, thanking the gentleman who was so kind*

Sharon, yes, I need a mead/rum refill please, Oliver. Where did Lyn take Nathan to? How many horses are out there anyway! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'm not seeing so many of the people I invited. There so many invites sent out and not many of them are here yet, but the night is long and there is still time. The King and Queen haven't shown yet either, darn it.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Sharon you are married, there is no getting out of it. But Sarin told me you were frigid. I didn't know. He did admit you hadn't been bitten. Now you need a divorce. I thought you might enjoy a little tip, I had no idea you were...
All that for nothing. Just get the divorce.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Well, Nathan dear,I'm not sure if we were actually missed! It seems Sharon is more capable of looking after herself than I thought. Let's go back to the stables.

Yes, as I was saying, some of the horses in the stables go back to the Darley Arabian. There must be at least twenty purebred mares, and two fine stallions. Those two over there are my specials though. There's Harri, my black Welsh Cob and Flying T'pau, who is part Welah and part lunatic, but I still love her! Oh yes, I'd love to go riding with you, let's make it a date!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Smiling demurely, Sharon reaches into her dress and pulls out her silver cross and cackles like a woman possessed. No vampire can touch me, Lady Ricksen, soo the feud is on! Deanna, I'm sure the king and queen are still on route. Such a lovely castle and grounds they wouldn't want to miss

    ReplyDelete
  101. *pulling a small piece of hay from Lyn's sleeve*

I enjoyed the stable tour and you have several fine mares out there. I wish you luck at the track as well, though mine won't hold back to wait for yours.

Deanna, I'm so glad I could be here today to share the upcoming release of our book! I wish you much success. I hope I might receive a 'few' fan letters, that would nice too! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  102. I still got you Sharon. Mary plops Sharon with a glass of mead. You are a spoilsport. Let's have this out right now!
Mary holds her hands up ready to cast a spell. And poor Lyn walks in front of it. Kabooom! Lyn is now a donkey. Sharon and Mary look at each other and laugh. Sharon drips mead onto Mary and they run to hug. I'm not promising anything. But for today we will be buddies. Bring the jackass, I'll change her back.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Nathan, with you on the cover, it can't help but make the women want to read about you, so thank you for allowing me to put you on the cover. I'll be sure to forward any email I receive from your fans!

Have you tried the strawberries and chocolate yet? Come on, we must try them with you. Ladies, let's help Nathan decide on what to dip in the fondue.

    ReplyDelete
  104. It's wonderful that you were able to call by Nathan, I do believe you've been a real hit with the ladies and I'm sure they'll be sending you 'fan' letters.

It's been great talking horses with you and I look forward to an encounter at the racetrack! It won't be so much your horses not waiting for mine, as trying to keep ups with them I think!

    Farewell until we meet again.

Lyn reaches up and picks out a few pieces of straw from Nathan's dark mane of hair.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Looks like he's been dipping already. Mary notices the hay. Lyn, not again. Can you control yourself. Mary hands some hay to Lyn in her donkey form.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Don't worry Nathan didn't see you change into a donkey Lyn. Sharon stop laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Out of the kindness in her heart. She fights the little devil in her and changes Lyn back to human. Except for the tail. It stayed, well my spells wear off in a few days anyway. So you got a tail Lyn. It's kinda cute.
    Sharon stop laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Phew, thank goodness you changed me back before Nathan saw me, Mary, purple silk really doesn't go with donkey brown!

You wait Mary Rickson! You may regret changing me into a donkey. Don't forget my Welsh witch connections!

Now where's Deanna - is she being taken care of? Is Oliver attending to her needs? Have the King and Queen arrived yet?

    ReplyDelete
  109. *turning Lyn around, then back*

I think your tail is kind of cute! *wink*

    ReplyDelete
  110. I didn't mean it. It was supposed to be Sharon. Sorry.
    But it was kinda funny.
Look there's the Kind and Queen. Shoot, Oliver are you ready. I don't want anything to go wrong with them here. Which ones are they anyways?
Everyone is glued to the procession.
    Look at that.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think Oliver is helping her with a piece of that German chocolate cake, I see frosting all over his fingers and now he's feeding her a chocolate strawberry!

What is he whispering to her do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Excuse me ladies, I need to greet King George III and his Queen Charlotte!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Lyn blushes furiously. Oh, and I thought you hadn't seen. Ah well at least you know it was only Mary messing about, Nathan!

Did you really think my tail was cute?

Oh, what's that roar from the crowd, did someone say the King and Queen are arriving?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Oh my gosh! They are here! Oliver, wipe your fingers and get the chocolate off your face. We must greet the King and Queen...hurry!

*setting down my plate and glass*

    ReplyDelete
  115. But she was just in the barn with you. Boy is she fast. It's kinda funny with a tail though.
Poor Oliver. He has to help Sharon. She's a bit tipsy. And you know those Welsh when they get tipsy.
Okay, my God the King And Queen are here! Who greets them first?!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Lyn and Mary both put their hands to their ears as Sharon, unaware of the impending Royal presence, shrieks:

    "Who are you calling Welsh?"

    ReplyDelete
  117. Your Majesty, I am honored that you took the time to visit with us. All the guests are going to want to talk with you and the ladies will want a dance. Thank you for giving Nathan some time away to be here also!

*giving a deep curtsy to both King and Queen*

    ReplyDelete
  118. Nathan, darling, Sharon purrs. Come with me my sweet and allow me to feed you a chocolate strawberry. Mmm. Oh, Nathan, that's my finger, but you can bite it. I'm a vamp

    ReplyDelete
  119. Sharon and Nathan, come over here and meet the King.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Lyn, Mary and Sharon recover themselves in time and curtsey low, and reasonably elegently, while Oliver gives one of his famous bows.

"Your Majesties, you do us great honour by visiting our celebration!"

    ReplyDelete
  121. *the orchestra begins anew for the entrance of the Royal party, the crowd gather around to see the new arrivals*

    ReplyDelete
  122. Lyn, Mary won't cast a spell on the Queen will she? She pretty unpredictable, I'm not sure of her sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Hello your majesties. May I introduce myself? Mary Ricksen at your beck and call. Mary curtsies and almost falls over, but manages to take the Kings hand and kiss his ring and then the queens. She moves on and watches Lyn greet them. I was calling you Welsh Lyn not Sharon. Who knows what that mongrel is.
Lyn falls on her tail but bounces up as it supports her. Nathan greets them and leads Lyn to the side. Sharon steps up and next to her Sarin.
The king talks to Sarin. "So you married another one," he chuckles at Sarin.
Sarin Smiles, not this time sire, she's frigid. So I will grant her a divorce.
Sharon is shocked and cannot speak as Deanna is warmly hugged by the queen her friend.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I don't think even Mary would try something like that, Deanna. Besides, she now knows I'm the Welsh Witch, so she'll have me to contend with if she did!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Oliver, could we get some mead and rum for our new guests? Thank you so much! Your Majesties, this is Mary, Sharon and Lyn, who have so graciously hosted this party for me.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Mary contemplates putting a spell on everyone in the room. But she decides to let Deanna have her roast. There's always next week...
Mary rubs her hands in glee. Next time Sharon be on your toes. Mary smiles at Deanna. I'll behave for you. Aren't the King and Queen regal?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Lyn moves Mary a short distance away.

"I hope you ralise what exalted company we're in Mary, we must try and make a good imprssion on the King and Queen - after all, we've never had Royalty at one of our banquets before.

And about this tail, if you can't get rid of it, could you at least tie it around my waist or something, underneath my skirts, so it isn't so noticeable?

    ReplyDelete
  128. *hugging Mary*

You are such a sweetie, even with all your spells, and you're such fun too!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Mary, I see your pirates in the rowboats coming toward the beach again, did you invite them back or are they bringing more rum for us?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Mary nods her head and Lyn's tail disappears. "I know you didn't know about my magic spells. Welsh Witch. But I didn't mean to make you a jackass. I meant to do it to Sharon.
As long as the king and queen are here I will be an angel, I promise.
Will you let me go. Mary glares at Lyn and pulls her arm away. "The least you could do is thank me." Lyn shakes her head and walks away. Mary's promise is always good.
time to check out the hot nobleman. Who is that over there Lyn, he's cute?" Mary yells after Lyn. She ignores her and walks away. Mary chuckles as she looks at the mane Lyn has sprouted. Who knew.

    ReplyDelete
  131. They ain't my pirates!! HOLY MOLEY! THEY"RE REAL PIRATES!!!!!

Mary's eyes bulge and she runs around shouting. "PIRATES"

    ReplyDelete
  132. My men aboard the ship were suppose to watch for the pirate ship. How did they get past my men? Drunk on rum? They better not be, there'll be lashing for them all if that's the case!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Just before Mary's shout of alarm, she mysteriously sprouts angel's wings - black ones.

Lyn allows herself a grin of satisfaction, tucks her mane under her wig and picks up her skirts.
"Nathan, where's Nathan. If these aren't the good pirates they're obviously not Oliver's. Nathan will know how to deal with them!"

    ReplyDelete
  134. Ladies, stay here, I'll be back as soon as I can! I've men posted outside on the property.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Sharon beams at the king and queen. Pleased to meet you. Come sit over here on the thrones and have some mead and allow Oliver to bring some cake. My, but how wonderful to be in the midst of royalty. Deanna, I like his crowned jewel!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Mary, let's not forget how last Saturday you woke up behind bars as a chimpanzee. Wait until you wake tomorrow. Sharon winks at Lyn.

    ReplyDelete
  137. keep the King and Queen occupied, they don't need to know we may have visitors soon. Nathan's gone to see if he can head them off and what they might want.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Lyn, slightly out of breath, curtseys befire sitting herself down again. "I do apologise your Majesties, it seems there was some sort of - er- emergency with one of the kitchen maids. Now do try some of this exquisite Welsh mead, we have it brougnt in specially from Caerleon Castle in Wales, you know, and I can recommend the Devil's Food cake, it's an old family recipe Oliver's family has handed down from generation to generation.

    ReplyDelete
  139. If you remember correctly I got out of that one. If you push me I will turn tot he darkside. Now we wouldn't want that would we.
So back off Sharon and keep your cronies away too. We had a pact didn't we?
Sharon that mane of hair is beautiful. Surprisingly.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Mary decides to go to the pharmacopia to pick up her headache and blood pressure medicine. She grabs a hot guard and jumps behind him on his horse. Be right back. You're giving me a headache.

    ReplyDelete
  141. LOL...Sharon, you new mane is beautiful!

Lyn, how do you put up with those two on a weekly basis, it has to be hard to make them behave with each other.

Here come Nathan with a few of the pirates. They don't look so bad, they must be Oliver's friends. Mmmmm....hotties just like Nathan. We could be in for more fun tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  142. *Sigh*. Deanna, it's a hard job, I always get stuck in the middle and have to try and keep the peace! Good job they're both so lovable underneath it all!

Oh, you know I think you're right about those pirates. They do look familiar and *giggle* 'Hot! Not quite as hot as Nathan and Oliver of course, but very easy on the eye.

Some more music is called for, I think!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'm back, the pirates brought Oliver more rum, you ladies aren't hoarding it are you? Keeping a stash for the next party maybe? LOL

Lyn....*holding out my arm* Might I have this dance? The waltz is one of my favorites, it allows me to hold you close....*wink*

    ReplyDelete
  145. I think Nathan is enjoying himself this evening.

Oliver, could we get more refills?

Sharon, I think before Oliver arrives with the refills we should go get some more chocolate and strawberries, what do you think? And the party is going so well, thanks again for doing this!

    ReplyDelete
  146. Why Nathan, it would be an honour. Thank you.

*Grin* Good job Oliver has such a large cellar by the look of all those barrels the pirates are bringing in we'll have a good stock for some time to come.

Lyn gazes into his eyes "I love the waltz too, it's so romantic!"

    ReplyDelete
  147. By all means, Deanna. And whilst we're at it, let's nab a few of those rum suckers. They look like they know how to show a fair maiden a good time. Let's hit the bar!

    ReplyDelete
  148. hi Oliver, we thought we'd come over to you for our refills. You look a little busy tonight. Thank you for taking such good care of my guest! They love you!

Sharon, you must have to keep the ladies from sweeping him away from you! Look, the King and Queen are dancing too, right there by Nathan and Lyn. He is having a wonderful time tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Sharon, I've had a great time at the party and think I'll meander and talk with the guests. I do hope a few more show up yet as they said they would but we'll see.

Oliver, you've been a great host and kept my glass full. The mead and rum was wonderful, as were the fondues. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  150. I'll check back at the bar in a bit Oliver. I need to check on a few guests and also make sure Nathan is staying out of trouble! *wink*

*taking a fresh refill of mead and rum, I meander through the crowd and talk with each of them*

    ReplyDelete
  151. Lyn returns, grinning like a Cheshire cat and hanging on to Nathan like grim death.

You've been a fantastic guest Deanna, we've so enjoyed having you, and it was a bonus that Nathan and their Majesties could spend some time here as well. Your Nathan here is a fantastic dancer as well as an accomplished horseman.

Oliver's prepared enough food for an army, as usual, so with the pirates happily swigging down rum, and the orchestra playing softly, there's still plenty of food and drink for everyone and any late comers who may arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Lyn, we've had a wonderful time and the party may go late into the night. If you can't find me, Nathan and I may be on his ship taking a tour there but we'll be back. Thank you so much!

I'll see you in the morning if not later tonight and let you know who won the contests.

  153. Big hug, Deanna! You've been so much fun and Nathan is a real keeper. Can't wait to get my hands on him...I mean your book. We've had loads of fun. Stay as long as you like. I'll just saunter up to that unsuspecting pirate over yonder and give him a little taste...

    ReplyDelete
  154. not sure where Mary rode off to, I think that horseman didn't return her to us yet. I'm sure she'll stop by later to say goodbye or ...hello as the case maybe.

Sharon, I hope you enjoy the book, I had a great time writing it and now its on to the next manuscript and somehow a sequel to Never Surrender!

Now where did Nathan go to?

    ReplyDelete
  155. *sneaking up behind Deanna, giving her a hug*

I haven't left yet either, I'll probably stick around and entertain the ladies for a while. I haven't seen Vanessa around. Not sure if she'll be able to make it, but I'll be here.

Ladies, it was my pleasure to be able to meet each of you. I hope you keep me in mind as you read! *wink*

  156. Nathan, we've had a great time tonight but it's not over yet, I plan to be here for a while. I have lots of guests to talk with and I know they'd love to ask you a few questions so don't go far! *wink*

    ReplyDelete
  157. Lyn gives Deanna a hug.

Thanks again for making the party so much for and for bringing Nathan along. I'm just going to have to get 'Never Surrender' aren't I, if only to find out more about him!

Oh, hello Nathan, didn't see you there in the shadows. What's that, you'd like to have another look at that chestnut mare of mine, sure thing, I'm sure Deanna can spare you for a little longer! *wink*

    ReplyDelete
  158. *Hic* Sorr Deanna, I mean to say thanks for making the party so much FUN! *Hic* what's that Nathan? Yes, you're right, perhaps I did have just a teeensie weeny bit too much mead. Never mind, if getting my words jumbled is the worse that happens,it's not too bad! Now where were we going again?

    ReplyDelete
  159. LOL....you two enjoy and watch those empty stalls!

    ReplyDelete
  160. Mary flies back on her black wings. She love them. I'm sorry I have been flying around and Sharon be careful where you sit when you get home. Lyn If we didn't have you what would we do?
Deanna you brought a handsome guest in Nathan. Do you think I can have a turn on the floor, despite the wings? Actually they're beautiful and soft and so many dark colors that shimmer. I may opt to keep them.
It's been real fun and you are a good sport Deanna!

    ReplyDelete
  161. Mary, thank you! *hugs* I think Lyn stole Nathan to the stables but they'll be back later, hopefully without hay in their clothes and hair! Then you can grab Nathan for a dance around the floor too!

    ReplyDelete
  162. Lyn arrives back with Nathan in toe. They both brush the hay off their clothes.

"Thought we'd fill the hayracks while we were at it," she explains.

A lush Mary? Why, whatever can you mean?"

    ReplyDelete
  163. He reminds me of Captain Jack Sparrow! (Sorry I missed your roast Deanna) I tried to make it on time but it didn't work out. I hope you had a great time.

    ReplyDelete
  164. So Sharon is saying uncle huh?
It's just amazing how good we still look after all we've been through. How about a strawberry daiquiri Oliver? Make it strong with no taste of alcohol please.
Oxymoron huh? Use the expensive stuff and it's less harsh.
At least that's what I hear. I'm catching up with Lyn here. She always seems so happy.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Cindy Hello are you sober?
These people are all drunk! I have black wings, that I kinda like. But dressing will be hard. Lyn has spent the day in the barn playing in the hay with Nathan. Sharon is a witch even if she isn't a vampire. The three witches we be!
    Do you like pirates?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Hi Cindy, come and join in the fun. The party's still in full swing as you see. Nathan's giving Mary a turn on the dance floor at the moment, (Well he seems to have given most of us ladies a bit of a turn to be honest) but Oliver's around somewhere and he'll bring you some wine, or mead and some fruit and Devil's food cake. Oh, and there's always the fondues and strawberries!

Funny you should say that about Oliver! *Grin* Maybe it's the false moustache!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Welcome, Cindy.
Grab a pirate and some rum and have fun!

    ReplyDelete
  168. The story sounds great, Deanna!

Ladies, it looks like you outdid yourself this time. Kudos!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Hi Emma Lai

Welcome to the party, make your self at home - and like Sharon said, grab a pirate and some run! *grin*.

    ReplyDelete
  170. HI EMMA! Nice to see you here!
How's the big boy doing? I read where you said you were tired. Well stick around here for a bit. These pirates are so hot, they will cheer you up!

    ReplyDelete
  171. I see your back Sharon. Now the wings have to go or I will respond in kind. I'd like a temporary truce till next week.
    Don't worry Oliver. I won't hurt her.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Hi Emma. Indeed yes, have a rum runner and dance with a hot pirate. Yes, Mary, I'm back, like your worst nightmare. But hugs and air kisses for tonight. Until next week, that is. Smirk...

    ReplyDelete
  173. Hi Cindy and Emma! I'm so glad you could make it. *hugs* Never too late to the party! Wow, it is still going strong. Now Nathan is here somewhere...keep your eyes open, he likes to sneak up on the women!

    ReplyDelete
  174. *coming up behind Emma and Cindy and wrapping an arm around each of them*

Good evening ladies, you look ravishing! *wink*

    ReplyDelete
  175. We're glad you could make it. Deanna and I are both glad you're hear. Have you tasted the strawberries in the chocolate fondue yet? Well let's go have a taste while Oliver is mixing up your drinks.

    ReplyDelete
  176. hhhmmm....perhaps I've had a bit too much to drink, can't seem to spell or talk correctly....lol

    ReplyDelete
  177. *dipping a strawberry in the chocolate and holding it while Cindy takes a bit*

nice and sweet aren't they? Like all the women here tonight.

Oliver, thank you for the refill of mead and rum...those empty kegs can be taken down to the beach by my men. Gotta help where we can.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Let's all raise our glasses to Deanna! May you sell a lot of books! Here, Here!!!

    ReplyDelete
  179. Yes, may Deanna sell loads of books, and may Nathan never lose the twinkle in his eye!

    ReplyDelete
  180. Mary, thank you, you all have been so wonderful. I appreciate the opportunity to be here today and the book should be available in two weeks or so.

Nathan, darling, the women loved you today, thank you for being here with us.

Thank you to those who stopped in and also to those who WILL stop in late. I'm sure I'll be here trying to keep an eye on the guests and greet them as the come in!

thank you all so much! Cheers to all of us!

    ReplyDelete
  181. I enjoyed being here with all of you. I do wish I could go on the book signings with Deanna to meet the readers but alas, the King has other plans for my time.

*holding up my glass* May your books sell through the roof my dear Deanna!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Merry Meet Ladies! The witch is back!Since I've been gone,
    treachery has been afoot!
    Ancestors I call to thee,
    make the past spin anew.
    May wicked deeds come undone,
    Till'Deanna's Roast is good
    and done!
Aaahhhh!!!Nathan's here! Wow, you are so hotty-hot-hot!
Oliver, my earlier buzz is gone, be a dear--and bring me another rum. Yes, same as before:splash of rum and a lime.

    ReplyDelete
  183. No one caught on, no coke this time--it's Friday night. Pure rum now!

    ReplyDelete
  184. *coming off the dance floor, a bit out of breath*

Witchy!! So glad you made it back, I haven't left and Nathan is here, have you seen him?

    ReplyDelete
  185. Deanna, Oliver said you were looking for me.

    *winking at the new guest*

Thank you for joining us, I'm Nathan.

*taking her hand and placing a warm kiss on the back of it*

Allow me to escort you to see Oliver so we can get you a glass and a drink.

    ReplyDelete
  186. (I glance over my shoulder at Deanna)as Nathan's places his hand on the small of my back. But, his heady scent and his closeness has me feeling...a bit...woozy. Nathan catches me as I swoon!

    ReplyDelete
  187. LOL.....he has that effect on women, Witchy and he uses it to his advantage! Let me him take you out for a dance, enjoy him!

    ReplyDelete
  188. in the meantime, I'll wait for you two at the bar, Oliver will keep me company. He's refilled the chocolate fondue and strawberries!

    ReplyDelete
  189. If I hold you close, would you care for a waltz? I promise I won't let you slip through my arms.

Deanna will be fine with Oliver. I'm so glad you returned. I heard you were earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  190. (Blushing)Yes, of course' I'd love to dance.
Here's hoping I can keep Nathan for the rest of the night. (Guess my seductive spell-worked after all; evil grin.) Good night Deanna! Hope you enjoyed your roast & toast--I sure did. Bye, I'm off to dance with Nathan!

    ReplyDelete
  191. *winking at you, getting lost in your eyes*

You make me swoon also, I can't even talk right!

    ReplyDelete
  192. So you cast a spell, eh? That isn't playing fair, you know. Consequences could not be to your liking.

    ReplyDelete
  193. I can't wait for you to read our book and get to know me better

    ReplyDelete
  194. Hmmm...consequences? I'll take my chances Nathan. I do plan on getting to know you better, wink.
I'll be sure to pick you up...I mean, pick up Deanna's book. (Wink)

    ReplyDelete
  195. Hi ladies! Sorry to be so late. Nice to meet you, Deanna!
