Author Roast & Toast: Happy New Year!

As many of you may know, our beloved sister hostess Sharon Donovan, tragically passed away on 11th April 2012. We who knew her, loved her, and were inspired by her courage and determination to face head on whatever life threw at her. When she could no longer see to paint she turned to writing and showed her amazing talent in the Inspirational Romance and Romantic Suspense genres, and her story 'Charade Of Hearts' was awarded the coveted Predators and Editors Award in January this year.

This Blog was a source of great delight to her, and she contributed to the fun and silliness in her own original way, and was kind enough to let her unique creation, the hunky butler 'Oliver' join us for our Friday romp and prepare 'virtual breakfast' for the guests on the following morning. It's beyond hard to have to go on without her, but we know that she would have been the first to insist that 'the show must go on.' She is, and will always be with us in spirit.

Sharon, dear friend, we will never forget you.
The Author Roast and Toast is part of the legacy you left us. Let's raise a Toast to you as well as all our guests.

These are Sharon's own words to describe her best loved creation, her 'Man Friday ', Oliver

"'Oliver' is her butler, cabana boy and biggest nuisance. Although he has been trained in some of the best culinary schools in Europe, once he started working for Sharon, he lost all etiquette. Oliver is always ready to stir or shake up the perfect martini for you, flirt shamelessly with the pretty women authors and to fall in love at the drop of a hat. He will rudely stare, drool, pant, demand autographs, the whole time flexing his biceps while wildly winking."

Hywela Lyn mainly writes fantasy and futuristic romance, although she has been known to dabble in other genres.
Lyn is Welsh and very proud of it, although at present she lives away from her beloved homeland, in a small village in England, surrounded by pretty countryside. She loves horses and dogs and has two horses of her own, Harri and T'pau, and a rescued Jack Russell terrier, Bouncer.

Hywela and Lyn are her first two names and when she was first published she decided to use them both and drop her surname, since she's always been called `Lyn' and thought it was time her Welsh first name was used. Being easily confused herself, Lyn thought she should explain this to avoid confusing everyone else!

She is aided and abetted on the Author Roast and Toast Blog by her pet miniature unicorn named `Cuddles'. Don't be misled by the name and innocent expression of this little fellow. Cuddly he may be, but he's full of mischief, and delights in hiding things and causing havoc.

Mary loves Vermont and North Carolina in the mountains. Rows of corn and cherry trees were playgrounds in the summer. She loves animals, horses, cows, and critters who live in the wild. Small town life is her future haven after big city madness. She made up her mind that someday she'd be back in the country, even in just in her books. Love, happiness, a little bit of magic, and a hunky hero with a happily-ever-after ending is her favorite thing to read or to write. Especially if they are time travel!
